White Roses for Bali: Serangan and Jimbaran Residents Visit DPRD, Strengthen TRAP Special Committee’s Efforts

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — A different atmosphere was seen at the Bali Provincial Legislative Council (DPRD Bali) building on Friday (April 24, 2026), as several residents from Serangan and Jimbaran visited the office carrying white roses as a symbol of support for the Special Committee on Spatial Planning, Assets, and Licensing (Pansus TRAP).

The residents’ arrival was not a protest, but a gesture of appreciation for the firm steps taken by the committee in overseeing issues related to spatial planning, public assets, and environmental protection in Bali.

The symbolic action reflected the hopes of coastal communities for the committee’s courage in preserving nature and defending the rights of residents who they believe have long been neglected. The white roses represented sincerity, hope, and peaceful support for the committee’s mission.

Serangan community representative Ipung directly conveyed appreciation to members of Pansus TRAP. He said the committee’s recent actions had opened a path for residents to fight for their rights.

“We came not to pressure anyone, but to strengthen and encourage them. What has been done on Serangan Island has become hope for us. We ask that this struggle continue,” he said.

Ipung also expressed gratitude to Bali Governor, law enforcement officers, and related institutions, saying they had begun opening the door to justice for Serangan residents.

A similar message was delivered by Jimbaran representative Linda. She said the presence of Pansus TRAP had reopened long-standing issues felt by the community for decades, particularly regarding the management of areas in Jimbaran.

“We are thankful because our case has finally been brought to light. We hope Bali’s spatial planning regulations will truly be enforced for the benefit of the people, including protection of temples and road access that has long been blocked,” she said.

Linda also urged a review of several policies considered harmful to the public and called for firm action against parties violating spatial planning rules.

Responding to the support, Chairman of Pansus TRAP DPRD Bali, Dr (c) I Made Supartha, S.H., M.H., expressed appreciation for the trust shown by residents. He said the white roses symbolized a moral commitment for the committee to work sincerely for Bali’s interests.

“This is a symbol of purity. We work sincerely, wholeheartedly, and honestly to safeguard Bali’s spatial planning, assets, and policies,” he said.

He also called on all elements of society and government to unite in protecting Bali’s environment, culture, and social life.

“No one can defeat the power of the people. We are public servants, and the people are the true owners. We must stand together now to protect Bali for future generations,” he added.

The peaceful action sent a strong signal that spatial planning and environmental issues have become matters of broad public concern. From Serangan to Jimbaran, the people’s voices are reaching policy makers, reminding all that Bali is not merely a place for development, but a shared heritage that must be preserved.
