“Kuta Kita” Launched as Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel and Discovery Mall Bali Celebrate 58 Years of Shared Journey with Kuta

BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG – Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel and Discovery Mall Bali have officially launched “Kuta Kita” as the theme of their anniversary celebrations, highlighting the deep connection between the Kuta area, Kartika Plaza, and the communities that have contributed to Bali’s tourism growth over the past several decades.

The theme was unveiled in Bali on Wednesday (June 17, 2026) as part of the celebrations marking the 36th anniversary of Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel and the 22nd anniversary of Discovery Mall Bali. The series of events will begin in August 2026 and culminate on January 5, 2027.

Chairman of the organizing committee, Alfred Yodhian, said the “Kuta Kita” theme was chosen to represent a long journey that has grown alongside Kuta and the people who have shaped the area into one of Bali’s most iconic tourism destinations.

“Kuta Kita is the story of a journey that grew in Kuta, began with Kartika, and continues to live with all of us today,” Alfred said during the launch event.

For more than three decades, the Kartika Plaza area has been recognized as one of the driving forces behind Bali’s tourism industry. Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, formerly known as Kartika Plaza Beach Hotel, has evolved in parallel with Kuta’s transformation into a world-class tourism destination.

The development of Discovery Mall Bali further strengthened the area’s appeal, creating an integrated destination that combines accommodation, shopping, dining, entertainment, and community activities, all directly connected to the famous Kuta Beach.

Luis Daniel Garcia, General Manager of Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel, emphasized that this year’s anniversary is not only about celebrating the past but also about reinforcing a commitment to the future of Kuta.

“For 36 years, we have grown together with the community and the development of Kuta. This anniversary is not merely a hotel celebration; it is our appreciation to everyone who has been part of our journey. Through Kuta Kita, we aim to create programs that benefit the community, the environment, and the tourism ecosystem in a sustainable way,” Garcia said.

The celebration will feature a wide range of activities involving local communities, including entertainment programs, special promotions, SME activations, community events, cultural experiences, and Corporate Social Sustainability Responsibility (CSSR) initiatives.

Environmental sustainability has also been placed at the center of this year’s program. Given the strategic coastal location of Discovery Kartika Plaza Hotel and Discovery Mall Bali, organizers are using the occasion to promote greater awareness of the importance of protecting Kuta’s coastal and marine environment.

Jifang, General Manager of Discovery Mall Bali, said sustainability must remain a key pillar of Bali’s tourism future.

“We want our anniversary to become a platform for collaboration that brings together businesses, communities, local residents, and visitors under a shared vision. It is not only about celebrating our journey but also about building collective awareness to protect the coastal environment and support sustainable local economic growth,” Jifang said.

The “Kuta Kita” program is also supported by the wider Artha Graha Network ecosystem through Bank Artha Graha Internasional and Electronic City. The collaboration is expected to expand positive impacts for local communities, small and medium-sized enterprises, community groups, and the tourism sector across Kuta and surrounding areas.

The main series of “Kuta Kita” celebrations will take place from October 2026 through January 5, 2027, serving as a reflection on more than three decades of shared growth with Kuta while reaffirming a commitment to sustainable tourism development in Bali.
