BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — The Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration has apprehended 62 problematic foreign nationals during the “Dharma Dewata Immigration Patrol,” conducted over the past 20 days across several areas in Bali, May 5, 2026.
Head of the Bali Immigration Office, Felucia Sengky Ratna, said the operation targeted high-risk locations within the jurisdictions of Ngurah Rai, Denpasar, and Singaraja immigration offices. The patrol focused on violations such as overstaying, the use of falsified data to obtain visas, and the misuse of residence permits for illegal activities.

“The surveillance also covers foreign nationals working without permits, engaging in fictitious investments, and other activities that may disrupt public order and security,” she stated.
Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, emphasized that authorities will show zero tolerance toward immigration violations, particularly those affecting national stability.
“I have instructed all personnel to act firmly without compromise. We welcome quality tourists and investors, but for those who break the law, there are only two choices: comply with the rules or leave Indonesia,” he asserted.
He added that Bali, as the global face of Indonesia, must be safeguarded from practices that undermine the social and economic fabric of local communities. To that end, immigration authorities are strengthening oversight through integrated digital data systems and intensified field patrols.
Director of Immigration Supervision and Enforcement, Yuldi Yusman, noted that his team continues to enhance early detection of potential violations.
“This enforcement action proves that there is no room for foreign nationals who violate the law and disturb public order,” he said.
Felucia further explained that the operation is part of broader efforts to maintain the integrity of Bali’s tourism sector. According to her, only foreign nationals who contribute positively and respect local values deserve to stay on the island.
“The presence of illegal foreign workers must be addressed to protect the local economic ecosystem and ensure a healthy investment climate,” she added.
Currently, all detained foreign nationals are undergoing further examination by immigration investigators. Strict administrative sanctions are being prepared, ranging from detention and deportation to re-entry bans into Indonesian territory.
Bali Immigration also urges the public to actively report suspicious activities involving foreign nationals through official complaint channels to help maintain safety and public order.
