Six Foreign Nationals Deported from Bali in Three Days for Public Disorder and Immigration Violations

BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG – The Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim Denpasar) deported six foreign nationals within a three-day period for immigration violations and actions that disrupted public order in Bali.

The deportees included New Zealand national RNB (54), Canadian national FRP (51), and four Indian nationals identified as SS (27), GS (21), BS (32), and SSP (29).

Head of Rudenim Denpasar, Teguh Mentalyadi, said the deportations were carried out as part of immigration law enforcement efforts against foreigners who violate immigration regulations or disturb public order.

One of the most prominent cases involved FRP, a Canadian citizen who was reported for causing a disturbance and damaging property at Griya Adi Jaya Housing Complex in Sukasada, Buleleng Regency, on May 9, 2026. After being detained by Buleleng Police, FRP was handed over to the Class II Immigration Office at Singaraja on May 11 and later transferred to Rudenim Denpasar on May 13 while awaiting deportation.

Although FRP’s visit stay permit remained valid until June 18, 2026, immigration authorities imposed administrative immigration sanctions because his actions were deemed to have disturbed public security and public order.

A similar case involved SSP, an Indian national who was detained by Ubud Police on May 23, 2026, after allegedly causing a disturbance at a hotel on Monkey Forest Road in Ubud, Gianyar. SSP was accused of damaging hotel property, including bottles and glasses, and refusing to pay food and laundry bills. Immigration authorities subsequently recommended his deportation.

In addition to public order violations, immigration officers also took action against four foreigners found to have overstayed their permits.

RNB, a New Zealand citizen, was found to have overstayed for 56 days after his stay permit expired on February 26, 2026. He reportedly claimed that he was unaware his Visa on Arrival (VoA) had expired.

Meanwhile, three Indian nationals who were apprehended at a hotel in the Kuta area in late April 2026 were also found to have violated immigration regulations. SS had overstayed by 70 days, while GS and BS had each overstayed by 30 days.

According to immigration authorities, FRP and SSP were sanctioned under Article 75 Paragraph (1) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration for disturbing public order. RNB, SS, GS, and BS were found in violation of Article 78 Paragraph (2) of the same law concerning overstaying.

Teguh emphasized that the deportations reflect the Directorate General of Immigration’s commitment to maintaining legal sovereignty and public order in Indonesia, particularly in Bali.

“We will not tolerate any form of violation, whether immigration-related offenses or actions that disrupt public order by foreign nationals in Bali. This firm action demonstrates our commitment to the ‘Immigration for the People’ principle in safeguarding security, public comfort, and the dignity of the nation,” Teguh said.

The deportations were carried out in stages through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport under escort from Rudenim Denpasar officers. RNB was deported on June 10, 2026, FRP on June 11, 2026, while the four Indian nationals—SS, GS, BS, and SSP—were returned to their home country on June 12, 2026.

Teguh added that the deported foreigners could also face re-entry bans to Indonesia. Under Article 102 of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration, such bans may range from five to 10 years, or even be imposed for life in cases involving serious threats to public security and order. The final duration of any re-entry ban will be determined by the Directorate General of Immigration after a comprehensive review of each case.
