BALINEWSID.COM, SALATIGA, Central Java — The spirit of collaboration and stronger law enforcement was reaffirmed during a meeting between representatives of PERADI PASNI and the Salatiga Police at the Salatiga Police Headquarters on Monday (May 11, 2026).
The meeting was attended by PERADI PASNI Chairman Kornelis Ratu, S.H., C.Med., CPT, along with his team, and was received by Salatiga Police Chief AKBP Ade Papa Rihi, S.H., S.I.K., M.H.
Held in a warm and cooperative atmosphere, both sides emphasized the importance of building synergy between advocate organizations and the police as strategic partners in creating professional, humane, and fair law enforcement for the community.
Salatiga Police Chief AKBP Ade Papa Rihi welcomed the presence of PERADI PASNI and expressed appreciation for the opportunity to strengthen collaboration in improving legal services for the public.
“We welcome our colleagues from PERADI PASNI. Synergy between the police and advocates is very important in providing a sense of security, legal protection, and ensuring that the rights of the public are fully protected in every legal process,” he said.
According to him, changes in Indonesia’s Criminal Code (KUHP) and Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP) require all law enforcement officers to focus not only on formal legality but also on justice, legal certainty, and the broader benefits of law for society.
He added that police reform must be strengthened through cross-institutional collaboration, including with advocate organizations, especially amid ongoing adjustments to the national legal system.
“Everyone is currently learning and adapting to the changes in the KUHP and KUHAP. Legal assistance from advocates has even begun at the investigation stage so that the rights of witnesses, victims, and parties facing legal processes can be better protected,” Ade Papa Rihi explained.
Meanwhile, PERADI PASNI Chairman Kornelis Ratu stated that his organization is committed to building strategic partnerships with the National Police in strengthening legal education, community assistance, and the quality of law enforcement in the regions.
He said advocate organizations have a moral responsibility to provide legal aid and ensure equal access to justice for all levels of society.
“We hope this synergy will continue to grow stronger. The presence of advocates is not only to assist in legal cases, but also to become part of legal education and the protection of people’s rights,” Kornelis Ratu said.
During the meeting, PERADI PASNI also invited the Salatiga Police Chief to serve as a speaker and lecturer in the organization’s advocate education programs, both offline and online.
The educational programs are held regularly every month as part of efforts to strengthen legal knowledge for participants of the Special Advocate Professional Education Program (PKPA) and Advocate Examination (UPA), who are being prepared to become professional and ethical advocates.
The meeting is expected to become a concrete first step toward building sustainable partnerships, collaboration, and synergy between PERADI PASNI and the Salatiga Police in realizing modern, humane, and community-oriented law enforcement.
