Denpasar Immigration Detains Four Nigerian Nationals in “Dharma Dewata” Patrol Over Alleged Stay Permit Violations

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — The Class I Immigration Office TPI Denpasar detained four Nigerian nationals during an immigration patrol operation dubbed “Dharma Dewata” on Friday, April 17, 2026. The four foreigners are suspected of violating Indonesia’s stay permit regulations.

The operation was conducted as a follow-up to the Immigration Patrol Roll Call organized by the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration on April 15, 2026. It forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen monitoring of foreign nationals’ presence and activities in Bali, particularly within Denpasar’s jurisdiction.

The Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Team of the Denpasar Immigration Office targeted several locations believed to be gathering points for foreign nationals, including a lodging facility on Jalan Pandu, Denpasar. The patrol was based on intelligence reports regarding suspected suspicious activities involving several foreigners at the site.

Upon arrival, officers carried out a thorough inspection and sweep of the premises. During the operation, several foreign nationals were found staying at the accommodation, with four individuals reportedly acting uncooperatively when questioned by authorities.

According to the results of immigration document checks, the four detainees were identified by their initials as UMA (37), UGO (28), KUO (25), and JIE (28). UMA entered Indonesia through Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on April 13, 2018, holding an investor stay permit. UGO entered via Juanda International Airport on June 17, 2025, under a visit stay permit. KUO arrived through Soekarno-Hatta on February 5, 2026, with a converted investor stay permit, while JIE entered via Juanda on February 5, 2025, also under an investor stay permit.

All four individuals were subsequently secured and taken to the Class I Immigration Office TPI Denpasar for further investigation over alleged misuse of their stay permits.
