Denpasar Immigration Arrests Three Foreign Nationals in Alleged Online Prostitution Case

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — The Denpasar Class I Immigration Office (TPI Denpasar) has apprehended three foreign nationals suspected of operating an online prostitution network and misusing their stay permits in Bali.

The arrests were carried out on Saturday, May 2, 2026, by officers from the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section (Inteldakim) following a cyber patrol that uncovered suspected prostitution activities on a website. Acting on the findings, authorities launched an investigation that led to coordinated operations at two separate locations.

At the first location, a villa in the Mengwi area, officers detained two women identified by their initials as EJN (21), a Nigerian national, and ED (22), a Russian national. Both had entered Indonesia under Visit Stay Permits (ITK) but were allegedly engaged in illegal activities in violation of their visa conditions.

Immigration records show that EJN entered Indonesia via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on March 21, 2026, while ED arrived through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on March 10, 2026.

In a separate operation at a hotel in the Renon area, officers arrested another Russian national, identified as AR (27). She had entered Indonesia on April 22, 2026, also under a Visit Stay Permit. AR was detained inside a hotel room with a male companion after her identity was confirmed through the immigration database.

Head of the Denpasar Immigration Office, R. Haryo Sakti, stated that all three individuals have been taken into custody for further investigation. He emphasized that immigration authorities will not tolerate any misuse of stay permits.

“Every foreign national must comply with the laws and norms applicable in Indonesia. We will take firm action against any violations,” he said.

The enforcement effort aligns with the directive of Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, who promotes the principle of “Immigration for the People” to safeguard public order, security, and national dignity.
