BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — The Denpasar Class I Immigration Office (TPI) moved swiftly to follow up on public reports regarding an alleged intimidation incident involving a foreign national that went viral on social media. The incident reportedly took place in the Renon area of Denpasar City.
Responding to the circulating reports, on Friday (April 17), the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Team of the Denpasar Immigration Office immediately conducted field surveillance. During the operation, officers coordinated with the South Denpasar Police to ensure the process was carried out safely and in accordance with procedures.

Following the coordination, the team proceeded to the residence of the foreign national located on Jalan Tukad Unda. Authorities identified the individual as TD (49), a British citizen.
Immigration officers then examined TD’s immigration documents. However, during questioning, the individual was reportedly uncooperative and resisted officers.
The inspection revealed that TD held a Limited Stay Permit, which had expired, placing him in violation of Indonesia’s immigration regulations due to overstaying.
TD has since been secured and taken to the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office for further investigation. Authorities are currently probing the alleged intimidation motive reported by residents, as well as reviewing his activities during his stay in Indonesia.
Head of the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office, R. Haryo Sakti, emphasized that the action reflects a prompt response to public complaints.
“We will not tolerate any violations of residence permits or actions that disturb public order by foreign nationals,” he stated, while also expressing appreciation for the community’s active role in reporting suspicious activities.
Meanwhile, Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Felucia Sengky Ratna, also praised the swift response by Denpasar Immigration officers in securing the viral foreign national.
She stressed that all foreign nationals in Bali are required to comply with applicable regulations and respect local communities.
“Law enforcement must be carried out firmly and appropriately to maintain public safety and comfort,” she said.
