Banyuwangi Man Found Dead at Boarding House in East Denpasar

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – A 46-year-old man from Banyuwangi, identified by the initials Su, was found dead in front of his boarding house room on Jalan Sedap Malam, near Diaz Laundry, in Kesiman Village, East Denpasar, on Thursday (June 25, 2026).

The incident was reported and handled by authorities at around 1:00 p.m. local time. The victim was discovered unresponsive after several residents attempted to wake him up.

According to witness Muhammad Iwan (47), the victim had been consuming alcohol around the boarding house area for two consecutive days. On the early morning of June 25, at approximately 4:00 a.m., the victim complained of body aches and shortness of breath. Iwan then bought him a coconut drink, which the victim consumed while sitting in front of his room before being left to rest.

At around 11:00 a.m., a massage therapist asked Iwan to wake the victim, who was still lying on the floor in front of his room. When Iwan tried to wake him, there was no response. Suspecting that the victim had passed away, he immediately contacted the victim’s relatives.

Another witness, Ni KT SU (49), stated that the victim had earlier complained of breathing difficulties. She attempted to help by providing eucalyptus oil before the victim fell asleep. She then continued her work ironing laundry. When the victim remained unresponsive until midday, she contacted a co-worker from a nearby workplace for assistance.

Initial examination by authorities found no signs of violence or physical injuries on the victim’s body. Investigators estimated that the victim had been dead for approximately six to twelve hours before being discovered.
