The case has been officially reported under police report number LP / B / 34 / III / 2026 / SPKT / Criminal Investigation Unit / Kuta Police / Denpasar City Police / Bali Regional Police.

The victim, identified by his initials AY (48), a man from Malang, East Java, suffered abrasions to the left side of his neck and his right hand. His vehicle also sustained severe damage.

According to a witness, identified as TW, who is the victim’s wife, the incident began when the victim’s car brushed against a taxi in the Kuta Square shopping area. Despite the minor collision, the victim continued driving.

However, his vehicle was later chased by a group of people shouting “thief, thief.” Upon reaching Jalan Pantai Kuta, the victim’s car was blocked and forced to stop. Several individuals then allegedly began vandalizing the vehicle, hitting it with their hands and a wheel wrench, and throwing stones at the windows.

“My husband was also beaten by several people at the scene,” TW said.

Police stated that the perpetrators not only damaged the vehicle but also carried out a group assault on the victim. As a result, nearly all of the car’s windows were shattered, the body was dented, and all four tires were deflated.

In handling the case, officers have processed the crime scene, questioned witnesses, and examined CCTV footage from around the location.

Authorities have detained two suspects, identified as LG alias Arif (29), a daily laborer from Bantul, Yogyakarta, and ON alias Mesak (29), a plantation worker from Malaka Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.

Urine tests revealed that one of the suspects, Arif, tested positive for amphetamine (AMP) and methamphetamine (METH).

Police are still pursuing other suspects believed to have been involved in the incident and who fled the scene.

Denpasar Police Public Relations Officer, Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, confirmed the incident and stated that the case remains under further investigation.
