270 Foreign Nationals in Bali Apply for Emergency Stay Permit, Immigration Confirms Free Extension

Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Felucia Sengky Ratna, said the policy was granted to foreigners affected by the conflict who are unable to return to their home countries.

“Based on data as of March 8 at 4:00 p.m. WITA, approximately 270 foreigners have applied for an emergency stay permit extension,” she said on Monday (March 9, 2026).

The ITKT applications were submitted through several immigration offices in Bali, including the Ngurah Rai and Denpasar Immigration Offices. Meanwhile, the Singaraja Immigration Office has not yet received any applications.

Authorities also recorded around 11,200 passengers affected by the Middle East conflict, consisting of approximately 10,700 foreign nationals and the rest Indonesian citizens.

However, not all affected foreigners have applied for the emergency stay permit. Immigration officials believe many of them still hold valid stay permits.

“Most likely their stay permits are still valid. At the helpdesk and our emergency posts, we have also informed all affected foreign nationals that they can apply for an extension,” Ratna explained.

She emphasized that the Emergency Stay Permit is granted for 30 days and can be extended free of charge.

“What we need to stress is that it costs zero rupiah. There should be no individuals taking advantage of the situation by claiming to represent immigration and asking for fees,” she said.

To facilitate the process, Bali Immigration has opened ITKT application services at all immigration offices across the island, regardless of the applicant’s place of residence.

“If they are in Denpasar, they can apply in Denpasar; if they are near Ngurah Rai, they can apply there; even in Singaraja they are welcome to submit their application,” she added.

The policy applies to all foreign nationals affected by the conflict, regardless of their purpose of visit to Bali, whether for tourism, business, or other activities. (FF)
