BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – A motorcycle belonging to PT Semangat Dapur Bersama was completely destroyed in a fire on Jalan Imam Bonjol, near the Buagan Intersection in Pemecutan Klod Village, West Denpasar District, on Monday (June 22, 2026) evening.

The incident, which later went viral on social media, occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m. local time. No injuries or fatalities were reported.

According to witness and rider Rehan Achmad, 20, the incident began while he was returning home from a local market and traveling along Jalan Imam Bonjol. As he approached the scene, the motorcycle repeatedly stalled before flames suddenly emerged from underneath the engine.

Realizing the danger, Rehan immediately pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and sought assistance from nearby residents. He also attempted to extinguish the fire using water from a gallon container, but the flames quickly intensified and spread throughout the motorcycle.

Firefighters from the Denpasar City Fire Department responded to the scene and deployed two fire engines to contain the blaze. The fire was fully extinguished at around 6:50 p.m.

The motorcycle, a gray Honda Kharisma bearing license plate number DK 5603 ABG, was completely burned and suffered total damage.

Preliminary findings indicate that the fire was likely caused by an electrical short circuit in the motorcycle’s engine system.

Authorities confirmed that no one was injured in the incident. The owner of the vehicle chose not to file a police report, considering the fire an unfortunate accident rather than a criminal matter.

The incident attracted public attention after videos and photos of the burning motorcycle circulated widely on social media.
