BALINEWSID.COM, JAKARTA — The Central Executive Board of the Online Journalists Association (Pengurus Pusat Ikatan Wartawan Online/PP IWO) marked its 14th anniversary by holding a social program at SD Muhammadiyah 16 Bukit Duri, South Jakarta, on Friday (August 7, 2026).

The event, held one day before IWO’s 14th anniversary on August 8, was part of a series of activities organized by the association under the theme “Free Press, Dignified Democracy.”

In collaboration with Muhammadiyah, PP IWO provided educational scholarships to eight students from SD Muhammadiyah 16 Bukit Duri who were considered in need of financial assistance to continue their education.

The organization also distributed nutritious meals to students and held an educational game featuring general knowledge questions. Eight prizes were prepared for the students, symbolizing the date of IWO’s anniversary on August 8.

IWO Chairman H. Teuku Yudhistira Adi Nugraha said the 14th anniversary should serve not only as an occasion for the organization to celebrate, but also as an opportunity to contribute directly to society, particularly to the younger generation.

“We are very happy to be here on this blessed Friday and to receive such a warm welcome from the students of SD Muhammadiyah 16. We are grateful to be able to contribute to the development of a smart and capable young generation,” Yudhistira said.

He said the initiative reflected IWO’s commitment to supporting education and contributing to the development of Indonesia’s human resources.

Yudhistira added that the activity was also in line with the spirit of President Prabowo Subianto’s Asta Cita development agenda, particularly efforts to strengthen education and prepare Indonesia’s future generation.

“This activity also received full support from IWO’s Chairman of the Honorary Council, Mr. Agus Andrianto, who also serves as Minister of Immigration and Corrections. He conveyed his greetings to the school and to the students, who will become the next generation responsible for realizing Indonesia’s Golden Generation 2045,” he said.

The event was attended by several IWO officials, including Deputy Secretary-General Sainudin Mahyudin, Treasurer General Adrika Willial, Head of Public Relations Aqmarul Akhyar, PP IWO official Hengky Lumbantoruan, and veteran journalist Carlos Pardede.

Representatives from Muhammadiyah included Chairman of the Bukit Duri Muhammadiyah Branch Leadership (PCM) Husnul Yaqin, Deputy Chairman for Education Syamsudin, and teachers from SD Muhammadiyah 16 Bukit Duri.

Husnul Yaqin expressed his appreciation for IWO’s support, particularly the assistance provided to students facing financial difficulties.

“We thank IWO for its support and for helping cover the educational costs of students who are less fortunate. We hope IWO will continue to grow and become an even stronger organization in the future,” Husnul said.

The program concluded with the cutting of a birthday cake to commemorate IWO’s 14th anniversary, followed by the presentation of an IWO plaque to the Bukit Duri Muhammadiyah Branch Leadership.

The event ended with the students, teachers and IWO representatives sharing a nutritious meal together.

For IWO, the 14th anniversary serves not only as a celebration of the organization’s journey, but also as a reminder of its commitment to social responsibility and to supporting education for Indonesia’s younger generation.
