BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — A suspected assault case involving a 25-year-old woman has gone viral on Instagram after she reportedly suffered injuries following an alleged altercation with her boyfriend in East Denpasar.

The incident reportedly occurred at around 2 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026, on Jalan Soka, Gang Kertapura VB, Kesiman Kertalangu Village, East Denpasar, Denpasar City.

According to police information, the victim, identified by her initials NMADA, 25, was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend, identified as IKAAP, 32.

The incident reportedly began with an argument between the couple. Police said the suspect allegedly became angry and struck the victim with his bare hands, hitting her in the face, including the area around her left eye.

As a result of the alleged assault, the victim reportedly suffered bruising to her face, a lump on her head, bruising to her left arm and bruises on her back.

The case is currently being handled by the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Denpasar City Police (Sat Reskrim Polresta Denpasar). The alleged offense is being investigated under Article 466 of the Indonesian Criminal Code (KUHP), concerning assault.

Denpasar City Police Public Relations Officer Iptu I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya said investigators had taken follow-up measures in connection with the report.

Police have examined the reported suspect and coordinated with Bhayangkara Hospital regarding the victim’s medical examination and forensic report (visum).

The investigation remains ongoing as police gather further information and evidence to establish the circumstances of the alleged assault.

IKAAP remains a reported suspect in the case, and any determination of criminal responsibility will depend on the ongoing legal process and evidence gathered by investigators.
