BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – Bali’s Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration has identified 66 foreign nationals from 27 countries suspected of violating immigration regulations during a week-long operation.

The enforcement was carried out by the Dharma Dewata Immigration Patrol Task Force across the working areas of the Ngurah Rai, Denpasar, Singaraja, Klungkung, and Tabanan Immigration Offices.

Immigration officials found that the violations were dominated by misuse of residence permits, involving 24 foreign nationals. Another 20 foreigners were found to have overstayed their immigration permits, while 22 others were identified as being involved in activities suspected of disrupting public order and security.

The Dharma Dewata Patrol is not solely focused on enforcement. The operation is also aimed at strengthening immigration surveillance and enabling authorities to respond quickly to potential public-order disturbances involving foreign nationals.

During the operation, officers used an integrated digital data system to verify immigration documents and identify potential violations. Officials also visited businesses and accommodation providers to educate operators about their obligation to report foreign nationals through the Foreigner Reporting Application (APOA).

Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Felucia Sengky Ratna, said the use of digital surveillance systems had helped immigration officers detect potential violations more quickly and accurately.

“Digital-based surveillance has proven effective in detecting potential violations more quickly and accurately, thereby limiting the room for foreign nationals who intend to violate the rules,” Felucia said.

She also instructed all personnel involved in the operation to maintain integrity and professionalism while carrying out their duties.

According to Felucia, immigration supervision must be conducted in a humane manner while remaining firm, measured, and consistent with applicable laws and regulations.

“In every operation, I emphasize that all personnel must work professionally and avoid any abuse of authority. Supervision must be carried out humanely, while remaining firm and measured within the applicable legal framework,” she said.

Bali Immigration also urged the public to take part in monitoring the activities of foreign nationals. Residents are encouraged to report any foreign nationals suspected of violating immigration regulations or disrupting public order.

“If you encounter a foreign national who is disturbing public order or there are indications of a violation of the law, please report it to the nearest immigration office. This is in line with the spirit of ‘Immigration for the People,’ where we work together with the community to safeguard sovereignty and maintain peace and security in our shared environment,” Felucia said.

The Dharma Dewata Immigration Patrol Task Force is expected to continue its surveillance operations across Bali. Immigration authorities emphasized that inter-agency cooperation and public participation remain essential to maintaining security and enforcing immigration laws on the Island of the Gods.
