Algerian National Deported from Bali After Completing Sentence in Bangli Prison

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — The Denpasar Class I Immigration Office deported a 47-year-old Algerian national, identified by the initials BKH, through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on Friday (August 21, 2026), after he completed his sentence at Bangli State Prison.

BKH was deported under an Immigration Administrative Action pursuant to Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration, in conjunction with Article 447 paragraph (1) letter f of Law No. 1 of 2023 and Law No. 20 of 2025 concerning the Criminal Procedure Code.

Article 75 paragraph (1) of the Immigration Law authorizes immigration officials to impose administrative immigration measures against foreign nationals who engage in activities considered dangerous, are reasonably suspected of posing a threat to public security and order, or fail to comply with Indonesian laws and regulations. Deportation is among the administrative measures available to immigration authorities.

Before his deportation, BKH served his sentence at Bangli State Prison. After completing his sentence, the Denpasar Immigration Office continued the immigration process by carrying out his deportation from Indonesian territory.

Officers from the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section of the Denpasar Immigration Office escorted BKH to I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. The deportation process began at approximately 10:30 a.m. local time and continued until his departure.

BKH departed Bali at 1:45 p.m. on Batik Air Malaysia flight OD307 from Denpasar to Kuala Lumpur. He then continued his journey on Qatar Airways flights QR853 and QR1379, traveling from Kuala Lumpur via Doha to his final destination in Algeria.

Head of the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office, R. Haryo Sakti, said the deportation was part of immigration law enforcement against foreign nationals who fail to comply with Indonesian laws and regulations.

“The Denpasar Class I Immigration Office carries out immigration measures in accordance with applicable laws and regulations. After the individual completed his sentence, the immigration process was continued with deportation until he left Indonesian territory,” Haryo said.

BKH was escorted by immigration officers throughout the departure process at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport. He has now left Indonesian territory and is traveling to Algeria via Kuala Lumpur and Doha.
