BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG – Around 1,400 businesspeople and professionals from 47 countries have gathered in Bali for the Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship International (FGBMFI) World Convention 2026, held at the Bali International Convention Center (BICC) from August 12 to 15, 2026.

The international convention is part of FGBMFI’s 50th Jubilee celebration and carries the theme “One Fire, One Vision for Acceleration.” The event brings together business leaders and professionals from around the world while highlighting leadership, integrity, family values, social responsibility and faith.

FGBMFI International President Fransis Uwoso emphasized that the organization is not simply a fellowship for Christian businesspeople, but a community for ordinary men and women who have experienced personal transformation.

“Although we are Christian businesspeople, we are not pastors. We are ordinary men and women involved in business,” Fransis said.

He explained that FGBMFI members come from the general public and are actively involved in various business and professional fields. Their personal experiences and life journeys are central to the organization’s community-building approach.

Fransis also shared his own experience before joining FGBMFI, saying he had struggled with alcohol consumption in his home country.

“Before joining this organization, I had a problem with drinking alcohol in my country. But after joining this organization and God touched my life, I truly experienced a transformation,” he said.

The change, he added, also affected his family life.

“So now I am a better man and a better husband,” Fransis said.

According to Fransis, personal stories of transformation are an important part of how FGBMFI builds relationships among its members.

Members from different countries regularly share their experiences, including difficulties they faced before making significant changes in their lives.

FGBMFI activities, he said, are not necessarily conducted in formal religious settings. Members often meet in restaurants and hotels to communicate, build relationships and share their experiences.

“Every week we meet in restaurants and hotels because we do not want to appear too religious,” he said.

Fransis described FGBMFI as a practical organization that seeks to help ordinary people deal with challenges in their daily lives.

“We are a practical organization. It is about helping ordinary people who are facing problems in their lives,” he said.

He believes that hearing stories from people who have overcome personal difficulties can encourage others facing similar challenges to seek help and pursue a better life.

During the convention, Fransis also addressed global challenges that he said demonstrate the limitations of human capabilities.

He cited forest fires in several parts of Europe, including Spain, Italy and France. Fransis said he had recently been in Europe and had heard about the situation firsthand.

He referred to comments by the French president describing the situation as one of the country’s major challenges since World War II.

For Fransis, such situations demonstrate that advances in technology and national power do not mean humanity can control every problem.

“We realize that human beings have limitations. Human beings cannot do everything they want to do,” he said.

He pointed to what he described as an irony: humanity has ambitions to explore Mars while still struggling to deal with serious problems on Earth.

“We live in this world and want to go to Mars. Yet we cannot even deal with a small fire here on Earth,” he said.

From his perspective, such circumstances reinforce the importance of faith in human life.

“We cannot live our lives in this world without faith,” Fransis said.

He stressed that people need God to confront fear and the challenges they encounter.

“We believe that every man and woman needs God in their lives to remove every fear within them, so that when problems come, we know that we are strong enough to face them,” he said.

Fransis also highlighted the important role played by FGBMFI members in Indonesia within the organization’s global network.

“Our members from Indonesia play a very important role in the organization,” he said.

He expressed hope that Indonesian members would not only remain active within the fellowship but also demonstrate positive contributions as citizens.

“We want to believe that the men and women who are part of this community are good Indonesian citizens,” Fransis said.

He added that members’ conduct in their everyday lives could become one of the organization’s strongest forms of testimony.

“That will be the greatest testimony for the organization,” he said.

The FGBMFI World Convention 2026 in Bali brings together approximately 1,400 businesspeople and professionals from 47 countries and marks five decades of the organization’s global journey.

Several national and international figures are scheduled to participate as speakers and contributors, including Romo Koko, Pastor Juan Mogi, Pastor Rubin Adi Abraham, who also serves as Chairman of the GBI Synod, Pastor Harliem Salim of the Indonesian Christian Church and Asia-Pacific coordinator, Pastor Lito Samsriwi of Care City Church Jakarta, and Pastor Timotius Arifin.

The business workshops also feature prominent professionals, including Batara Sianturi, CEO of Citi Indonesia, and Anthony Putihrai of Tamara Corporation.

Key figures involved in organizing the Bali convention include Len Wijaya, Chairman of World Convention Bali 2026; Djinhard, Senior Ambassador of Full Gospel Indonesia; Dalie Sutanto, National President of Full Gospel Indonesia; Fransis Uwoso, International President of FGBMFI; Anthony Putihrai, Director of World Convention Bali 2026; and Agus Surjanto, Chairman of the World Convention Bali 2026 event committee.

In Indonesia, FGBMFI is known as Perkumpulan Usahawan Injil Sepenuhnya Indonesia (PUISI). The organization is an interdenominational Christian fellowship that brings together businesspeople and professionals from various fields.

FGBMFI Indonesia states that it is not a church organization and is not affiliated with any political party or specific church denomination.

Through the World Convention 2026 in Bali, FGBMFI is seeking not only to strengthen international business and professional networks but also to provide a forum for sharing experiences on leadership, family, integrity, social life and faith.
