BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — The Denpasar City General Elections Commission (KPU) has reaffirmed its commitment to building a clean, transparent and accountable institution by declaring an accelerated Integrity Zone program aimed at achieving a Corruption-Free Area (WBK) and a Clean and Service-Oriented Bureaucratic Area (WBBM).

The declaration and signing of the Integrity Zone Acceleration Charter were held at the third-floor meeting room of the Denpasar KPU office on Thursday, August 6, 2026.

Denpasar KPU Chairwoman Dewa Ayu Sekar Anggaraeni said the development of the Integrity Zone was a collective responsibility involving all levels of the institution.

She stressed that the success of the program would depend on a shared commitment to carrying out duties with honesty, transparency and a strong focus on the public interest.

“An Integrity Zone is not merely an institutional target, but a work culture that must be reflected in every public service and electoral process. Integrity is the foundation for building public trust in the KPU,” Sekar said.

The declaration was marked by the signing of the Integrity Zone Acceleration Charter by the Denpasar KPU chairwoman. The signing was witnessed by representatives of various government and law enforcement institutions as a demonstration of cross-sector support for strengthening clean governance.

Those attending included a member of the national KPU, the chair and members of the Bali Provincial KPU, the commander of Kodim 1611/Badung, the Denpasar Police chief, the chair of the Denpasar District Court, the head of the Denpasar District Prosecutor’s Office, the Denpasar Regional Inspector, and the head of the Denpasar Agency for National Unity and Politics.

The presence of officials from different institutions underscored the importance of inter-agency cooperation in strengthening accountable governance and supporting bureaucratic reform within the Denpasar KPU.

The commission said the collaboration was expected to improve the implementation of bureaucratic reform while ensuring better-quality public services.

The event began with participant registration, followed by the opening ceremony, the singing of Indonesia’s national anthem and the KPU March, a prayer, remarks by the Denpasar KPU chairwoman, the declaration and signing of the charter, and briefings from Bali Provincial KPU Chair I Dewa Agung Gede Lidartawan and KPU RI member Idham Holik.

The Denpasar KPU emphasized that the development of an Integrity Zone was a continuous process requiring consistency, supervision and active participation from all KPU personnel, as well as support from relevant stakeholders.

The initiative is expected to strengthen the professionalism and credibility of the Denpasar KPU while ensuring that electoral administration and public services are delivered with greater transparency and accountability.

The declaration also sends a clear message that efforts to establish a clean bureaucracy will not stop at the signing of a charter, but must be reflected in the institution’s daily practices and in services that can be directly felt by the public.
