BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – Bali Governor Wayan Koster has urged the public not to overreact to various tourism-related issues circulating on social media, stressing that Bali remains safe and conducive.

Koster made the statement after holding a security coordination meeting with the Bali Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), including the Bali Police Chief, Commander of the IX/Udayana Military Command, Bali Chief Prosecutor’s Office, and immigration authorities, in Denpasar on Tuesday (July 28).

The meeting discussed several issues, including running community activities in the Canggu area and reports about the Bali Silent Disco fun run, which was rumored to involve only foreign nationals (WNA).

Koster said ordinary running activities should not be a cause for concern as long as they are conducted in an orderly manner and do not disturb public order.

“Running is fine. There is nothing to worry about as long as it does not cause any disturbance. This was held in the morning, so it was just a normal activity,” Koster said.

Regarding the Bali Silent Disco fun run, which was rumored on social media to be an exclusive event for foreign nationals, Koster said reports and evaluations from the field indicated that the situation was different from what had been widely perceived online.

“I received a report that it was not as reported. There were Indonesians involved in the activity. So, that report was not true,” he said.

Koster emphasized that Bali remains generally safe and conducive. The Bali Provincial Government, together with law enforcement agencies, will continue to strengthen monitoring and coordination to maintain security and public order.

He also called on the public to remain calm and avoid being easily influenced by unverified information circulating on social media.
