BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – The Bali Provincial Transportation Agency (Dishub Bali) has prepared a comprehensive traffic management and diversion plan to ensure the smooth running of the opening ceremony of the 2026 Bali Arts Festival (Pesta Kesenian Bali/PKB), scheduled for Saturday, June 13, 2026.
Head of the Bali Transportation Agency, I Kadek Mudarta, said traffic arrangements would be implemented from the opening rehearsal and the Peed Aya cultural parade to the daily performances held at the Taman Budaya Art Centre in Denpasar throughout the festival.
“We have prepared traffic management and diversion measures starting from the opening rehearsal, the Peed Aya parade, the opening ceremony at the Art Centre, and the daily performances during the entire PKB period,” Mudarta said.
In addition to traffic engineering measures, the agency has conducted public outreach through social media and distributed official notifications to businesses, shops, and residents located along Jalan Raya Puputan, which will be affected by temporary road closures.
The opening of PKB 2026 will be centered at two main venues: Niti Mandala Renon Field and the Taman Budaya Art Centre Denpasar. Traffic volume is expected to increase significantly around both locations, prompting road diversions and traffic control measures.
For the Peed Aya parade in the Renon area, traffic arrangements will affect several major roads, including Jalan Raya Puputan, Jalan Tantular, Jalan Kusuma Atmaja, Jalan Basuki Rahmat, Jalan Ir H. Juanda, Jalan Dr. Muwardi, Jalan Panjaitan, Jalan Letjen S. Parman, Jalan Cok Agung Tresna, Jalan Prof. Moh. Yamin, and other surrounding roads in the Renon area.
Meanwhile, traffic management around the Art Centre will cover Jalan Nusa Indah, Jalan Pucuk, Jalan Katrangan, Jalan Kroya, Jalan Kembang Matahari, Jalan Hayam Wuruk, Jalan Drupadi, Jalan Kecubung, and Jalan WR Supratman.
Mudarta explained that traffic diversions for the opening rehearsal will be enforced on June 12, 2026, starting at 7:00 a.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA) until the event concludes. For the Peed Aya parade on June 13, traffic management will begin at 12:00 p.m. WITA.
The official opening ceremony at the Art Centre is scheduled to start at 4:00 p.m. WITA on June 13. Traffic control measures around the venue will remain in effect daily throughout the festival, which runs from June 13 to July 11, 2026.
To support security and ensure smooth traffic flow, the Transportation Agency will deploy dozens of personnel. A total of 16 officers will be assigned during the rehearsal, 29 during the Peed Aya parade, 28 during the opening ceremony at the Art Centre, and 20 officers daily throughout the festival.
The agency has urged the public to comply with the designated traffic arrangements and follow instructions from officers on duty. Motorists without direct business related to the festival are advised to avoid the Renon and Art Centre areas during event hours to help reduce congestion.
“We urge the public to plan their trips in advance, comply with traffic diversions, and prioritize safety while traveling,” Mudarta said.
