Bali Police Bust International Online Gambling Ring and Cyber Prostitution Network, Seven Suspects Detained

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – Bali Police’s Cyber Crime Directorate (Ditressiber) has uncovered two cybercrime cases that had disturbed the public, involving an international online gambling syndicate and online pornography and prostitution. A total of seven suspects have been arrested in operations carried out in Badung, Denpasar, and Gianyar.

The cases were announced by Bali Police Cyber Crime Director Senior Commissioner Aszhari Kurniawan during a press conference at Bali Police Headquarters on Wednesday (April 29, 2026), accompanied by Head of Public Relations Senior Commissioner Ariasandy.

Aszhari said the successful operation reflected Bali Police’s commitment to maintaining a safe digital environment across the island.

The first case involved an international online gambling network. Police raided the operational base of gambling websites KETUA.CO and GN77, located at a guesthouse on Jalan Pratama Gang Hasan No. 3, Benoa, South Kuta, Badung.

The raid followed cyber patrols and undercover investigations conducted by Ditressiber officers. Four suspects were arrested at the location on April 12, 2026.

They were identified as IJT alias Gisel (23), RFT alias Selena (22), and MGB alias Aleta (22), who allegedly worked as telemarketers. All three are university students from Manado. Another suspect, WAB alias Guang Yun (31) from Jakarta, allegedly served as customer service staff.

Investigators found that two suspects, Gisel and Guang Yun, had previously worked in the Philippines and Cambodia. After authorities in those countries raided their former workplaces, they returned to Indonesia and allegedly moved their operations to Bali in January 2026.

Police said the suspects contacted between 300 and 400 Indonesian phone numbers daily, offering download links for gambling applications. Victims were promised initial bonuses and directed to deposit funds through several virtual accounts at national banks.

Officers seized four laptops and five mobile phones as evidence.

The second case involved online pornography and prostitution. Police arrested three women suspected of producing and distributing pornographic content through X (formerly Twitter) and Telegram.

The suspects were tracked down after cyber patrols monitored popular accounts, including @BABYCLARA23, @WULANDARIM58327, and @MYSVNFL0WER, which had more than 10,800 followers combined.

Suspect FF (28) was arrested at a guesthouse on Jalan Merpati, West Denpasar. TW (22) was detained at a boarding house on Jalan Kalimutu, West Denpasar, while TRK (23) was arrested at Merdani Kost in Singapadu, Gianyar.

Police alleged the suspects intentionally produced explicit sexual videos and sold them online to attract customers for booking services.

Evidence seized included four mobile phones, screenshots of online content, and proof of financial transactions.

The online gambling suspects were charged under Article 426 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code, carrying a maximum sentence of nine years in prison. Meanwhile, the pornography suspects were charged under Article 407 paragraph (1) of the Criminal Code in conjunction with Law No. 1 of 2026, with a maximum penalty of 10 years imprisonment.

“We are committed to creating a Bali that is safe both physically and digitally. We urge the public to use social media wisely and avoid online gambling and the spread of immoral content,” Aszhari said.

All suspects are currently being held at the Bali Police detention center. Police have also issued a wanted persons notice for the alleged leader of the gambling syndicate, identified by the initials CND, and are coordinating efforts to freeze accounts used to collect gambling proceeds.
