Udayana University Increases SKSS Scholarship Quota to 250 Students

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – Udayana University (Unud) has increased the quota for recipients of the One Family One Graduate (SKSS) Scholarship to 250 students for the 2026 academic year, up from 200 recipients last year. The increase is part of the university’s support for the Bali Provincial Government’s program to expand access to higher education for underprivileged families.

Udayana University Rector Prof. I Ketut Sudarsana said the university is fully committed to supporting the implementation of the SKSS program, which is expected to help improve Bali’s higher education participation rate.

“In 2026, the quota allocated to Udayana University is 250 students. We hope to fill the quota, but if applicants do not meet the required criteria, we cannot force the selection,”

Despite the increased quota, all applicants must still satisfy the eligibility requirements set by the Bali Provincial Government, including coming from a low-income family and having no family member who already holds a bachelor’s degree.

Sudarsana explained that in 2025 Udayana University received a quota of around 200 students, but after a strict selection and verification process, only 99 students were declared eligible to receive the scholarship.

The selection process begins with student registration and submission of supporting documents, including parents’ income statements, regional origin data, and other administrative requirements.

Udayana University’s Scholarship Unit then conducts verification before the list of prospective recipients is submitted to the Bali Provincial Government for final validation.

The rector emphasized that the SKSS program does not restrict recipients to certain study programs. All undergraduate programs at Udayana University, including highly competitive programs such as Medicine, are open to eligible students.

“All study programs have the same opportunity. The determining factor is not the program itself, but whether the student meets the SKSS eligibility criteria,”

Based on last year’s data, the largest number of SKSS recipients at Udayana University came from the Faculty of Economics and Business with 23 students, followed by:

Faculty of Engineering: 18 students

Faculty of Medicine: 9 students

Faculty of Cultural Sciences: 8 students

Faculty of Social and Political Sciences: 8 students

Faculty of Law: 8 students

Under the SKSS scheme, each recipient will receive:

Registration fee assistance, IDR 1 million per semester for tuition (UKT) for up to eight semesters, IDR 1.4 million per month in living expenses for students studying in Denpasar and Badung

Overall, the Bali Provincial Government has prepared 2,500 SKSS scholarship slots for prospective students in the 2026/2027 academic year.

Head of the Bali Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA), I Ketut Wica, said the provincial government has allocated approximately IDR 41 billion to fund tuition and living allowances for scholarship recipients.

Sudarsana described the SKSS program as a strategic initiative to improve the quality of Bali’s human resources and increase participation in higher education.

“This is an excellent program. We hope it will continue beyond a single government term because its benefits are enormous for improving the quality of Bali’s human resources,”.
