BALINEWSID.COM, TANGERANG — Soekarno-Hatta International Airport and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport remain closed until an estimated 6 p.m. local time on Monday, September 7, 2026, due to the impact of volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau on airspace and flight operations.

AirNav Indonesia, the country’s air navigation service provider, extended the temporary closure of both airports based on updated Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) information, citing airspace conditions and flight safety considerations.

Soekarno-Hatta International Airport (CGK) was declared CLOSED under NOTAM A3373/26 NOTAMR A3368/26, effective from 8:28 a.m. until an estimated 6 p.m. on September 7.

Meanwhile, Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP) was declared CLOSED under NOTAM A3372/26 NOTAMR A3369/26, effective from 8:16 a.m. until an estimated 6 p.m. the same day.

AirNav Indonesia said the extension of the temporary closure was a mitigation measure aimed at maintaining flight safety amid the spread of volcanic ash from Mount Anak Krakatau.

The company is continuing to monitor airspace conditions and the movement of volcanic ash. Aeronautical information and operational status will be updated dynamically based on actual conditions and flight safety assessments.

AirNav Indonesia is also coordinating with aviation stakeholders to ensure that information on airspace conditions and air navigation services is communicated accurately and in a timely manner.
