Fake Passport, Prostitution and Overstay: Bali Immigration Deports Seven Foreigners in One Week

BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG – The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office deported seven foreign nationals (WNA) between October 26 and 30, 2026, for various immigration violations, including the suspected use of fraudulent travel documents, misuse of residence permits for prostitution, administrative non-compliance, and overstaying their permitted period of stay.

One of those deported was SP, an Indian national who was caught allegedly using a fraudulent passport while undergoing immigration checks before boarding a flight to Manila, the Philippines, in the early hours of Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

An investigation revealed that SP possessed two Indian passports bearing different identities. Immigration officers also found indications that the biodata page of one of the passports had been replaced.

Following the discovery, SP was deported on Tuesday, October 27, 2026.

In a separate case, IP, a Russian national holding a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) under the Remote Worker category, was deported after being found to have misused the permit by engaging in prostitution activities.

Meanwhile, an Australian national identified by the initials CJD was deported for failing to comply with administrative immigration requirements. The violation involved failure to report changes or update passport and residence permit information after the previous passport had expired.

The remaining four foreign nationals were deported for overstaying their authorized period of stay in Indonesia.

Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Muhamad Novyandri, said the deportations reflected the agency’s commitment to intensifying immigration supervision and taking firm action against foreign nationals who violate Indonesian regulations.

He emphasized that immigration monitoring covers not only whether foreigners’ activities comply with their residence permits but also the validity and authenticity of their travel documents.

“The violations we have uncovered demonstrate that immigration supervision does not only focus on whether foreign nationals’ activities are consistent with their residence permits, but also covers the validity of the travel documents they use. We remain committed to strengthening supervision and taking firm action against every violation in accordance with applicable laws and regulations,” Novyandri said.

He added that all seven deported foreigners had been placed on Indonesia’s immigration blacklist, preventing their return to the country in accordance with the applicable entry ban.

Novyandri stressed that the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office would continue tightening its supervision of foreign nationals to maintain public order and security in Bali.

“These enforcement measures demonstrate our commitment to maintaining public order in Bali, in line with the direction of Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko to ensure optimal supervision and fair law enforcement,” he concluded.
