Ngurah Rai Immigration Deports 10 Foreign Nationals from Bali, Including Two Former Theft Convicts

BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG — The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office deported 10 foreign nationals between October 5 and 9, 2026, for various immigration violations. The group included two former theft convicts who had served prison sentences, six individuals found to have misused their residence permits, and two others who had overstayed their visas.

Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Muhamad Novyandri, said the deportations were part of routine immigration surveillance aimed at ensuring that foreign nationals residing in or visiting the area comply with Indonesian regulations.

“We conduct regular immigration patrols to ensure that the presence and activities of foreign nationals, particularly within the jurisdiction of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, comply with applicable regulations and do not disrupt public order in the local community,” Novyandri said in a statement released on Wednesday, October 14, 2026.

Misuse of residence permits accounted for the largest share of the violations. Three of the individuals involved held Limited Stay Permits (ITAS) issued for investment purposes.

ALY, a United States national, was found to have conducted activities outside the location authorized under the permit and promoted villas. NA, an Australian national, was found to have provided false information regarding an investment. Another Australian national, JA, continued operating a business despite its license having been revoked by Indonesia’s Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).

Other violations involved ED, a Russian national who worked as a beverage advertisement model; RM, a German national found to be using dual passports; and AK, a Ukrainian national who worked as a disc jockey (DJ) in Canggu while holding a bridging visa.

Meanwhile, two foreign nationals were deported for overstaying their permitted periods of stay. HBC, an Algerian national, had overstayed by 87 days, while ADH, an Australian national, had exceeded the permitted period by 78 days.

The remaining two individuals deported during the October 5–9 enforcement period were former theft convicts who had previously served prison sentences.

The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office stated that all 10 individuals had been placed on Indonesia’s immigration blacklist, restricting their ability to re-enter the country in accordance with applicable regulations.

Novyandri emphasized that immigration surveillance would continue to be strengthened to maintain public order and enforce immigration laws in Bali.

“These enforcement measures demonstrate our commitment to maintaining public order in Bali, in line with the directives of Director General of Immigration Hendarsam Marantoko to ensure effective supervision and fair law enforcement,” he said.
