Get Ready! ASITA Set to Shake Up Bali with Tourism Run 2026

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – The Bali Provincial Government, together with ASITA Bali and the organizing committee, has begun preparations for the Bali Tourism Run 2026, a sport tourism event aimed at increasing tourist arrivals to the Island of the Gods. The event is expected to attract between 2,000 and 4,000 runners and is projected to become an annual agenda.

Chairman of the Organizing Committee, I Wayan Suberata, said the 2026 edition will mark the second Bali Tourism Run after the successful inaugural event held on April 21, 2024, coinciding with Kartini Day.

“In 2025, we did not hold the event due to scheduling commitments. In 2026, we are bringing it back in a bigger way,” Suberata said in Denpasar on Wednesday (April 29, 2026).

According to him, next year’s event will carry the theme “Road to 100 Years of Bali Tourism,” reflecting the spirit of welcoming a century of Bali’s tourism industry while strengthening destination promotion through sports activities.

He explained that the committee is targeting a minimum of 2,000 participants and a maximum of 4,000 participants, consisting of local, national, and international runners.

Regarding registration fees, the committee is still finalizing the details. However, the ticket price is estimated at around Rp250,000 per participant, which will include a jersey and medal.

“The exact figure is still under discussion, but it will be approximately Rp250,000. We are also reviewing sponsorship support,” he said.

The committee also confirmed there will be no price difference between local and foreign participants to avoid complaints, as all runners will receive the same facilities and benefits.

For the event execution, the organizers will involve various running communities and experienced event management teams to ensure the race is conducted professionally.

“We will involve all running communities so that our participant target can be achieved,” he added.

However, Suberata acknowledged that the main challenge at present is funding. Despite that, the committee said it is ready to move quickly, as the application system and technical preparations have already been arranged.

“Once the funding is secured, we are ready to move fast,” he stressed.
