BALINEWSID.COM, JAKARTA — Motorists whose vehicles are subject to Electronic Traffic Law Enforcement (ETLE) violations can now complete several administrative procedures under one roof at the Jakarta Metro Police Samsat, including violation confirmation, fine payment and vehicle unblocking.

The integrated service was observed during an inspection of the Regional Traffic Management Center (RTMC) and Samsat services at the Jakarta Metro Police headquarters on Wednesday (Sept. 23, 2026), led by Traffic Law Enforcement Director at the National Traffic Police (Korlantas Polri) Brig. Gen. I Made Agus Prasastya.

He was accompanied by Korlantas Polri’s Vehicle Registration Director Brig. Gen. Komarudin and Jakarta Metro Police Traffic Directorate Deputy Director Adj. Comr. Arif Fazlurrahman.

The inspection was conducted under the direction of Korlantas Polri Chief Insp. Gen. Wibowo and as part of National Police Chief Gen. Listyo Sigit Prabowo’s priority programs.

During the visit, I Made Agus directly reviewed services for motorists whose vehicles had been captured by ETLE cameras. The services include confirming violations, paying fines and processing the unblocking of vehicles that have been blocked following ETLE violations.

“We have seen that people whose vehicles are captured by ETLE can confirm the violation and make the payment, and if their vehicles are subsequently blocked, the unblocking process can now be handled at the Samsat,” I Made Agus said.

He said the availability of ETLE vehicle-unblocking services at the Samsat would make it easier for motorists to complete their administrative obligations following traffic violations.

Under the integrated system, motorists who have completed the required confirmation and fine payment do not need to visit several different locations to continue processing their vehicle administration.

The one-stop ETLE service is part of Korlantas Polri’s efforts to provide more integrated, efficient and accessible public services. The system is also intended to ensure that vehicle administration is properly completed after all stages of the enforcement process have been fulfilled.

During the inspection, Korlantas Polri also reviewed the effectiveness of ETLE enforcement, particularly in dealing with the increasing use of fake vehicle license plates, locally known as Tanda Nomor Kendaraan Bermotor (TNKB).

“We also reviewed the effectiveness of ETLE, particularly amid the widespread use of fake TNKB. The Jakarta Metro Police has performed very well in taking action against people who use fake TNKB,” I Made Agus said.

He said enforcement against fake license plates was part of efforts to improve compliance with traffic regulations. Fake plates can make vehicle identification more difficult and may be misused to evade law enforcement.

Authorities will therefore continue to take action against such violations as part of efforts to promote greater traffic discipline in the Jakarta Metro Police jurisdiction.

I Made Agus also urged motorists to use the Digital Korlantas application before visiting the Samsat.

Through the application, motorists can check and confirm suspected ETLE violations remotely. By entering the reference number and vehicle license plate number, motorists can determine whether their vehicle has been recorded for an ETLE violation.

“We urge the public to use the Digital Korlantas application. Before going to the Samsat, please download the application to confirm the ETLE violation,” he said.

The use of the application is expected to help motorists obtain information about their vehicle status in advance, allowing them to understand the required procedures and prepare the necessary documents before visiting the Samsat.

Motorists whose vehicles are confirmed to have been subject to ETLE enforcement are also advised to settle their fines through the designated payment channels.

“If you receive an ETLE violation, please settle it through the available payment channels. After that, proceed to the Samsat for the next vehicle-related process,” I Made Agus said.

Once the fine has been paid, motorists can continue their vehicle administration process at the Samsat, including applying to have the vehicle block lifted if the vehicle was blocked as a result of the ETLE violation.

Korlantas Polri continues to promote technology-based ETLE services to improve compliance with traffic regulations. The one-stop ETLE service at the Jakarta Metro Police Samsat is expected to streamline vehicle administration while supporting safer, more orderly and smoother traffic in the capital.
