BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — The Denpasar District Prosecutor’s Office destroyed thousands of packs of cigarettes without excise stamps that had been confiscated as state property on Thursday (August 27, 2026).

The destruction involved evidence from two special criminal cases that had been adjudicated by the Denpasar District Court.

Head of the Denpasar District Prosecutor’s Office Trimo said the destruction was carried out after all legal and administrative procedures concerning the confiscated goods had been completed.

“These confiscated goods were seized in criminal cases that had been decided by the Denpasar District Court. After completing the administrative process and obtaining the necessary approvals, the goods were destroyed,” Trimo said.

The destroyed cigarettes consisted of various tobacco product brands, including 3,000 cartons of Smith Menthol, 850 cartons of Luxio, 750 cartons of H&D Classic, 484 cartons of Jangger, 453 cartons of Dalill Bold Putih, 430 cartons of LM Bold, 405 cartons of Rebel, 391 cartons of LM, and 88 cartons of Dalill Bold Hitam.

The destruction also covered 179 cartons of Luxio Premium, 50 cartons of San Marino, 13 cartons of Dubois, 10 cartons of H&D Light, seven cartons of Bravo Premium, as well as other cigarette packages.

The confiscated goods originated from two cases: one involving Hariyanto, based on Denpasar District Court Decision No. 334/Pid.Sus/2025/PN Dps dated May 27, 2025, and another involving H. M. Sadli, also known as Sattli, based on Decision No. 677/Pid.Sus/2024/PN Dps dated October 10, 2024.

The cigarettes did not bear the excise stamps required under Indonesian regulations.

Before the destruction, the confiscated goods were assessed by the Denpasar State Asset and Auction Service Office (KPKNL). Based on a market analysis, the goods were deemed unsuitable for general distribution, making destruction the appropriate method of managing the confiscated state property.

“The destruction was carried out to prevent goods resulting from criminal acts from re-entering circulation in the community,” Trimo said.

The Denpasar Prosecutor’s Office carried out the destruction after obtaining Attorney General’s Decision No. KEP-321/BPA/BPApa.1/07/2026 dated July 15, 2026, authorizing the destruction of the confiscated state property belonging to the cases involving Hariyanto and H. M. Sadli alias Sattli.

The destruction also received approval from the Ministry of Finance through Letter No. S-176/MK/KNL.1401/2026 dated August 6, 2026.
