Bali Police Strengthen Synergy with Political Parties and Youth Groups Ahead of 2029 Election

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – Bali Police have intensified coordination with political parties, youth organizations, and election organizers as part of early efforts to anticipate political dynamics ahead of Indonesia’s 2029 General Election.

The initiative was marked by a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) organized by the Intelligence and Security Directorate (Ditintelkam) of Bali Police at Puri Nusa Indah Hotel in East Denpasar on Thursday (June 11, 2026). The forum carried the theme, “Building a Common Understanding and Shared Commitment in Responding to Political Dynamics to Maintain Conducive Public Security and Order in Bali Province.”

The discussion brought together representatives of political parties at the provincial level, extra-campus and youth organizations, as well as officials from the Bali General Elections Commission (KPU Bali) and the Bali Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu Bali).

Bali Police Intelligence and Security Director, Senior Commissioner Andy Ervyn, emphasized that socio-political stability is a shared responsibility requiring cooperation among security authorities, election organizers, political parties, youth organizations, and the broader community.

Although the 2029 election remains several years away, Andy noted that political activities and public discourse have already begun to develop, making early anticipation essential through stronger communication, coordination, and early detection measures.

He also called on all stakeholders to promote healthy political education, improve digital literacy, and counter the spread of hoaxes, disinformation, digital propaganda, hate speech, and other forms of provocation that could trigger polarization within society.

Chairman of the Bali General Elections Commission, I Dewa Agung Gede Lidartawan, welcomed the initiative, describing the forum as an important platform for building mutual understanding and strengthening collaboration among stakeholders ahead of the 2029 election.

According to Lidartawan, early coordination is crucial to ensuring that future elections are conducted in a democratic, transparent, and accountable manner.

“KPU Bali is committed to continuing its cooperation with Bali Police and all stakeholders to maintain a safe and conducive environment and support the successful implementation of the 2029 General Election,” he said.

Bali Election Supervisory Agency Chairman, I Putu Agus Tirta Suguna, also praised the forum, saying that cross-sector collaboration plays a key role in strengthening participatory election oversight and preventing potential violations or conflicts that could disrupt socio-political stability.

He reaffirmed Bawaslu Bali’s commitment to working closely with Bali Police and all elements of society to maintain public order and security throughout the election process.

At the conclusion of the discussion, participants expressed a joint commitment to strengthening communication and cooperation, enhancing political education for the public, and serving as a cooling system amid growing political discourse ahead of the 2029 election.

Through stronger synergy among law enforcement agencies, election organizers, political parties, and youth organizations, Bali Police hope to maintain a stable security environment and support the realization of a peaceful, fair, and credible democratic process in 2029. (WESA)
