BNEWSID –  Bali has once again cemented its status as a world-class tourism destination after being ranked number one in The Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Destination List 2026 by TripAdvisor.

The recognition places Bali at the top of TripAdvisor’s global destination rankings, marking the highest position ever achieved by the island in the platform’s history. Previously, Bali consistently appeared in the Top 10 but had never claimed the top spot.

Indonesia’s Minister of Tourism, Widiyanti Putri Wardhana, expressed her appreciation for the trust and positive assessments given by international travelers.

“Thank you for the reviews and ratings shared for Bali through TripAdvisor. Being selected as the world’s best destination shows that Bali remains a global tourism magnet,” said Minister Widiyanti in her statement in Jakarta on Friday (January 16, 2026).

The Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best Destination List 2026 is compiled based on millions of reviews and ratings submitted by global travelers throughout 2025. In this year’s ranking, Bali outperformed several iconic destinations, including London (the 2024 winner), Dubai, Hanoi, Paris, and Rome.

In addition to being named the World’s Best Destination, Bali also secured several other prestigious accolades:

• First place as the Best Honeymoon Destination
• Top 10 Best Cultural Destinations
• Top 10 Best Solo Travel Destinations
• Top 20 Trending Cities in the World

The Ministry of Tourism hopes that this achievement will serve as a catalyst to further improve service quality and strengthen sustainable tourism principles across Indonesia, while attracting more high-quality visitors in the future.

“Moving forward, we want to ensure that Bali continues to grow as a quality tourism destination, one that benefits local communities, preserves the environment, and inspires the world,” Minister Widiyanti added.

Bali is widely recognized for its unique diversity, where natural beauty blends seamlessly with rich local culture, art, traditions, and religious ceremonies that are carefully preserved by its people. The experiences offered by the island go beyond visual appeal, providing meaningful and memorable journeys for visitors.
