BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — Forever Nights Angel (FNA) Bali marked its 17th anniversary with a humanitarian gesture, donating IDR 17 million to help residents affected by the magnitude 7.7 earthquake that struck Flores, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), on August 15, 2026.

The donation was handed over at the NTT Journalists Association (PENA NTT) Bali secretariat at Cafe PICA Pojok Sudirman in Denpasar on Wednesday afternoon, September 9, 2026.

FNA Bali 17th Anniversary Committee Chairman Nyoman Tri Putrawan said the donation reflected the community’s concern for residents affected by the disaster.

“This donation from FNA is for victims affected by the earthquake in several regencies and cities across Flores, NTT, following the August 15 earthquake. The amount is not what matters. We are channeling the assistance through PENA NTT,” said Putrawan, who is popularly known as Komang BL.

The donation was received by Agustinus Apollonaris Klasa Daton, chairman of the Bali Journalists Solidarity (SJB) fundraising committee and chairman of PENA NTT Bali. He was accompanied by PENA NTT Advisory Board Chairman Emanuel Dewata Oja, Indonesian Online Journalists Association (IWO) Bali Chairman Widi, and Alliance of Independent Journalists (AJI) Bali Chairman Febri.

FNA Bali President Ida Bagus Alit said the donation was part of the community’s 17th-anniversary closing activities.

“Coinciding with the closing of our 17th anniversary celebrations, I am representing my fellow members of Forever Nights Angel Bali in handing over this assistance to the earthquake victims in Flores, East Nusa Tenggara,” Alit said.

He expressed hope that the IDR 17 million donation, which was channeled through SJB, would help ease the burden on communities affected by the disaster.

Meanwhile, PENA NTT Bali Chairman Agustinus Apollonaris Klasa Daton thanked FNA Bali for its contribution.

“This assistance is a prayer for the people of Flores, East Nusa Tenggara,” Daton said.

He said the fundraising campaign organized by SJB had been running for approximately two and a half weeks and officially concluded in Denpasar on Wednesday.

“Today also marks the closing of the fundraising campaign, which has been conducted for approximately two and a half weeks together with Solidaritas Jurnalis Bali. Tomorrow, we will make sure that the assistance is distributed to our brothers and sisters in Flores,” he said.

Daton also assured donors that the funds would be distributed to people directly affected by the earthquake. The organizing committee, he said, had compiled a list of potential beneficiaries and communicated with affected residents in Flores.

“On behalf of our colleagues at SJB, I assure you that the funds donated by the people of Bali will reach the intended beneficiaries,” he said.

The donation ceremony and FNA Bali’s 17th-anniversary thanksgiving event concluded with a traditional tumpeng rice-cutting ceremony and a communal meal with journalists from SJB.
