BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG — The Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim Denpasar) has detained two foreign women from Germany and Norway for overstaying their immigration permits in Bali.

The two detainees were identified by their initials as K.A.H., 33, a German national, and N.F., 25, a Norwegian national. Both were transferred to Rudenim Denpasar by the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, pending deportation proceedings.

N.F. had previously attracted public attention after a video involving a dispute at a beauty salon in Canggu, North Kuta, went viral on social media. The dispute reportedly began after N.F. expressed dissatisfaction with the results of an eyebrow treatment and allegedly refused to pay for the service.

On August 10, N.F. returned to the salon, where both parties eventually agreed to resolve the matter through mediation at the North Kuta Police Station. After an amicable settlement was reached, the matter concerning her immigration status was handed over to immigration authorities.

An examination of her immigration documents by the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office found that N.F.’s Visa on Arrival (VoA) had expired on July 7, 2026. She was therefore recorded as having overstayed for 34 days, in violation of Article 78 Paragraph 2 of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration.

N.F. reportedly told immigration officials that she had previously received medical treatment at a hospital, which delayed her efforts to extend her stay permit. She also said her available funds had been used for daily living expenses, leaving her unable to pay the applicable immigration overstay charges.

After being detained for three days at the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office following her apprehension on August 10, N.F. was transferred to Rudenim Denpasar on August 12.

On the same day, Rudenim Denpasar also received K.A.H., a German national born in Ansbach. She had been detained by the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Division of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office for violating Article 78 Paragraph 3 of the Immigration Law after overstaying her stay permit by 84 days.

K.A.H. reportedly said she was forced to overstay after running out of accommodation and money to extend her immigration permit and purchase a return ticket to Germany. She had previously been detained at the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office for two days before being transferred to Rudenim Denpasar.

Head of Rudenim Denpasar Teguh Mentalyadi confirmed that the two women had been transferred to the detention center and were being held while the deportation process was prepared.

“On Wednesday, August 12, 2026, we received the transfer of two female detainees from Germany and Norway from the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office. They are currently being accommodated safely and orderly at Rudenim Denpasar,” Teguh said.

He explained that detention was part of administrative immigration measures to facilitate the preparation of their return to their respective countries.

Teguh added that N.F.’s case was receiving special attention because of medical considerations. Authorities plan to accelerate her deportation, with her family agreeing to cover the cost of her return flight to Norway.

Rudenim Denpasar said it would continue coordinating with the German and Norwegian representatives in Indonesia to arrange travel documents and ensure the deportation process runs smoothly.

The immigration authorities also reaffirmed their commitment to enforcing immigration regulations firmly while maintaining a humane approach toward foreign nationals who violate Indonesian immigration rules.
