BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — Perum BULOG’s Bali Regional Office is expanding rice distribution through national and local modern retail networks across the province to ensure adequate supplies and affordable prices for consumers.

BULOG Bali Regional Head Simon Melkisedek Lakapu inspected several modern retail outlets in Denpasar on Thursday (August 6, 2026), as part of efforts to monitor the availability of BULOG rice on store shelves and ensure that prices remain in line with government regulations.

The government-set maximum retail price (HET) for premium rice is Rp14,900 per kilogram, while the maximum price for medium-grade rice is Rp12,500 per kilogram.

Simon said residents in Bali should not be concerned about rice availability, noting that BULOG Bali currently controls approximately 12,150 tons of Government Rice Reserve (CBP) stocks.

“The current stock is projected to be sufficient to meet the needs of the people of Bali for approximately the next 10 months,” Simon said.

To make rice more accessible to consumers, BULOG Bali is distributing its premium Punokawan brand and medium-grade SPHP rice through various modern retail outlets across the province.

The distribution expansion is aimed at ensuring consumers have easier access to quality staple food at prices set by the government, while also helping maintain the stability of rice supplies and prices in Bali.

Throughout 2026, BULOG Bali has distributed approximately 850 tons of premium rice under the Befood Punokawan and Befood Setra Ramos brands to national and local modern retail networks.

In addition, around 300 tons of medium-grade SPHP rice have been distributed through modern retail outlets across Bali.

BULOG Bali is also strengthening coordination with regional governments, modern retail operators, food businesses and other stakeholders to ensure the distribution of both premium and medium-grade rice runs smoothly.

The agency said cooperation among stakeholders remains essential to maintaining stable rice supplies and prices and ensuring that staple food is available to consumers in an accessible, equitable and sustainable manner.

With government rice reserves currently standing at around 12,150 tons and distribution networks continuing to expand, BULOG Bali said it remains confident that rice supplies across the province will remain secure while access to affordable staple food is maintained.
