Bali Police Arrest 97 Suspects, Solve 80 Theft Cases in Major Crime Crackdown

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – Bali Regional Police (Polda Bali) have arrested 97 suspects and solved 80 criminal cases involving aggravated theft, violent robbery, motorcycle theft, and ordinary theft during a month-long operation in June 2026.

The announcement was made by Bali Police Chief Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya during a press conference on Monday (June 29, 2026). He was accompanied by Director of General Criminal Investigation Senior Commissioner Lintar Mahardhono, Director of Special Criminal Investigation Senior Commissioner Wisnu Prabowo, Head of Public Relations Senior Commissioner Ariasandy, and Head of the Professional and Internal Affairs Division Senior Commissioner Ketut Agus Kusmayadi.

Daniel said the success was the result of the work of the Quick Response Unit (Unit Reaksi Cepat/URC), established following directives from the Indonesian National Police Headquarters to improve rapid responses to street crimes across Bali.

The URC consists of 327 personnel deployed to respond swiftly to reports and incidents involving aggravated theft (Curat), violent robbery (Curas), motorcycle theft (Curanmor), and ordinary theft (Cusa).

Throughout June 2026, the Criminal Investigation Directorate of Polda Bali, together with criminal investigation units from district police offices, uncovered 80 cases consisting of 32 aggravated theft cases involving 40 suspects, five violent robbery cases with six suspects, 30 motorcycle theft cases involving 39 suspects, and 13 ordinary theft cases with 12 suspects.

Of the 97 suspects arrested, 93 are men and four are women. Police detained 96 suspects, while one juvenile suspect was not detained in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Investigators also seized a significant amount of evidence, including 47 motorcycles, three cars, 20 mobile phones, four laptops, tens of millions of rupiah in cash, two gold bars, gold jewelry, livestock, LPG cylinders, ATM cards, and various other items linked to the crimes.

Inspector General Daniel Adityajaya emphasized that the operation reflects Polda Bali’s commitment to ensuring public safety and reducing crime across the province.

He also urged residents to actively assist law enforcement by immediately reporting criminal acts or suspicious activities to the nearest police station or through the national emergency hotline 110.

“There is no safe place for criminals in Bali. We will continue to take firm action against anyone who commits crimes within the jurisdiction of Bali Regional Police,” the Bali Police Chief stated.
