BALINEWSID.COM, JAKARTA – The Directorate General of Immigration has appointed Saroha Manullang as the new Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), marking a leadership transition aimed at enhancing immigration services and border security in one of Indonesia’s strategic frontier regions.
The appointment was officially announced during the inauguration and oath-taking ceremony for 13 High-Pratama Leadership Officials held at the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections headquarters in Jakarta on Monday, June 22, 2026.
Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, presided over the ceremony and emphasized that the leadership reshuffle is part of the institution’s ongoing organizational renewal. He expressed hope that the newly appointed officials would carry out their duties with integrity, accountability, and a strong commitment to restoring and maintaining public trust.
East Nusa Tenggara holds strategic importance for Indonesia due to its position as a border province and a gateway to the country’s eastern region. The appointment of Saroha Manullang is expected to reinforce immigration supervision and strengthen the protection of national sovereignty in the area.
Prior to her new assignment, Saroha served as Head of Administration and General Affairs at the NTT Regional Immigration Office. In her remarks, she stressed that leadership transitions should be viewed as opportunities to continue public service and improve institutional performance.
“Leadership change is not merely about transferring authority. It is about continuing dedication, strengthening collaboration, and delivering immigration services that are closer to the people while safeguarding national sovereignty in eastern Indonesia,” Saroha said.
She also called for support from stakeholders and the public to ensure that the NTT Immigration Office can continue to provide meaningful contributions and quality services under the spirit of “Immigration for the People.”
The leadership transition is expected to further strengthen the agency’s commitment to professional, responsive, transparent, and people-oriented public services. Officials noted that every leadership mandate represents the trust of the state and must be carried out with integrity, dedication, and responsibility.
Meanwhile, Arvin Gumilang, who previously led the NTT Immigration Office, was appointed as the new Head of the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration in West Sumatra.
With its new leadership, the East Nusa Tenggara Regional Immigration Office expressed optimism that it will continue to serve as a frontline institution in safeguarding Indonesia’s borders, protecting national interests, and delivering high-quality immigration services to the public.
