BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — A 20-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident involving a Honda Scoopy and a three-wheeled Viar motorcycle on Tukad Pancoran Street, in front of the Puji Building Supply Store, Denpasar, Bali, early Tuesday morning, August 18, 2026.
The crash occurred at around 3:45 a.m. and was reported to the Denpasar Police Traffic Unit approximately 15 minutes later at 4 a.m.
Denpasar Police Public Relations Chief Inspector I Gede Adi Saputra Jaya, S.H., M.H., said the accident involved a Honda Scoopy with registration number DK 3849 KAB, ridden by Ketut Sudarman, and a three-wheeled Viar with registration number P 4829 TK, ridden by I Wayan Slamet Ariadi.
Sudarman, a private-sector worker from Karang Mulia, Semendawai Timur, South Sumatra, sustained a fractured right knee and facial abrasions. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
His body was subsequently taken to the mortuary at Ngoerah General Hospital in Denpasar for further procedures.
Meanwhile, the driver of the three-wheeled Viar, I Wayan Slamet Ariadi, 56, a resident of Tukad Pancoran Street, Pajer, Denpasar, was reported to have suffered no injuries.
According to the police, the accident began when Sudarman was riding the Honda Scoopy from west to east.
Upon reaching the crash site, he allegedly lost control of the motorcycle, veered to the right and entered too far into the opposite lane.
At the same time, Ariadi was traveling from east to west on the three-wheeled Viar. The two vehicles collided head-on, resulting in Sudarman’s death.
Police have documented the incident and are continuing to process the traffic accident report.
