Fire Hits Fireworks Warehouse in Denpasar, Three Residents Injured

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — A fire broke out at a fireworks warehouse on Jalan Siulan III, Gang Nusantara Indah 5, Bekul Hamlet, Penatih Dangin Puri Village, East Denpasar, Bali, on Tuesday (Sept. 15, 2026), at around 3:30 p.m. local time.

Denpasar Fire and Rescue Agency Chief I Made Tirana said the fire affected not only the fireworks warehouse but also nearby residential properties and a motorcycle repair workshop.

The cause of the fire was still under investigation, according to an initial incident report issued by the Denpasar Fire and Rescue Agency.

The blaze damaged one residential house, one fireworks warehouse and one motorcycle workshop. Around five motorcycles were also affected by the fire. Another house was reportedly flooded with water during firefighting operations.

Three residents were reported to have been affected by the incident.

I Made Gede, 35, suffered burn injuries and was referred to Dharma Yadnya General Hospital for treatment. Kadek Budi Ari, 40, was also taken to the same hospital after experiencing breathing difficulties.

Another resident, Tina Gustina, 22, was hit by a burst of flames and experienced shortness of breath. She remained at home and was reported to be in a safe condition.

The fire affected six families, involving a total of 20 people, comprising 12 adults and eight children.

The affected families were temporarily accommodated at the homes of nearby relatives. Authorities also prepared basic necessities and medical assistance, including efforts to provide medical assessments of the victims’ physical and psychological conditions.

The Denpasar Social Affairs Agency distributed emergency assistance consisting of 20 folding mattresses, 12 family kits and eight kids’ kits to help meet the immediate needs of the affected residents.

Several agencies were involved in the emergency response, including the Denpasar Fire and Rescue Agency, Denpasar Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Social Affairs Agency, Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), East Denpasar Subdistrict administration, East Denpasar Police, East Denpasar Military District Command, Penatih Dangin Puri Village administration, village security officers, the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Denpasar and Tagana disaster volunteers.

Authorities were continuing to investigate the exact cause of the fire.
