Bali DPRD Officially Extends Term of TRAP Special Committee Until September 2026

BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – The leadership of the DPRD Bali has officially extended the working period of the Special Committee on Spatial Planning, Assets, and Licensing (Pansus TRAP) until September 2026. The decision was made following a leadership meeting (rapim) held on Monday (March 2, 2026).

Chairman of DPRD Bali, Dewa Made Mahayadnya, also known as Dewa Jack, said the extension complies with the council’s internal regulations.

“In accordance with the rules of procedure, the term is extended for six months at a time, every six months,” Dewa Jack said after the meeting.

Regarding the committee’s structure, Made Supartha will continue to serve as chairman of the TRAP Special Committee. His appointment is based on the party holding the largest number of seats in the Bali DPRD.

“The chairman remains Mr. Made Supartha. The position stays with PDI Perjuangan as the party with the most seats,” he added.

Dewa Jack explained that the leadership meeting produced three key decisions: extending the working period of the TRAP Special Committee, refreshing its membership structure, and incorporating the committee’s budget into the 2026 main budget.

He noted that the TRAP Special Committee was initially formed under urgent circumstances, as its budget implementation from the previous year was shifted to the 2026 fiscal year. With the new decision, its operations will now proceed in accordance with the approved budget and prevailing regulations.

“The implementation of the TRAP Special Committee, which was previously formed abruptly due to budget adjustments, will now run in line with the 2026 budget and existing regulations,” he explained.

Dewa Jack emphasized that the presence of the TRAP Special Committee is crucial as the frontline body in addressing issues related to spatial planning, regional assets, and licensing across Bali, often referred to as the Island of the Gods.

“We will continue to oversee efforts to safeguard regional assets and ensure that spatial planning in Bali, as agreed upon, is properly supervised by the institution whose main duty and function is oversight, namely the Bali DPRD,” said Dewa Jack, who also serves as Treasurer of the Bali chapter of PDI Perjuangan.
