BANGLI, BALINEWS.ID – The Association of the Indonesian Tours and Travel Agencies (ASITA) Bali held an audience with the Bangli Regency Government to discuss a range of strategic tourism programs, covering destination promotion, the management of tourist attractions (DTW), and the implementation of an integrated ticketing system or one gate system, on Monday, February 9, 2026.
The warm and constructive meeting was attended by Bangli Regent Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta, the Deputy Regent of Bangli, members of ASITA Bali, and representatives of several regional government agencies within the Bangli Regency administration.
ASITA Bali Chairman I Putu Winastra stated that the audience marked an initial step to align ASITA’s work programs with the tourism policy direction of the Bangli Regency Government. He emphasized ASITA’s commitment to supporting the promotion and marketing of all tourism destinations in Bali, including Bangli Regency.
“Today we met with the Regent and Deputy Regent of Bangli to present ASITA Bali’s work programs, particularly in tourism promotion, the arrangement of tourist attractions, and our input regarding the implementation of a one gate system. These programs were very well received and are even set to be realized in the near future,” he said.
In addition, ASITA Bali requested that its environmental greening initiative, ASITA Care, be synergized with the Bangli Regency Government. The forest restoration and greening program is expected to become a shared priority, especially in areas requiring environmental rehabilitation.
In his presentation, Putu Winastra highlighted ASITA’s strategic role as one of the largest tourism stakeholders in Bali. Currently, ASITA Bali represents around 364,000 travel agencies, contributing approximately 65 percent of total foreign tourist arrivals to Bali.
In terms of promotion, ASITA Bali also encouraged the Bangli Regency Government to continue utilizing the Bali and Beyond Travel Fair (BBTF) as a key tourism showcase. BBTF is the only internationally recognized travel fair initiated by Indonesians, now in its 11th year, and this year carries a gastronomy theme.
“This year’s BBTF targets buyers from 47 countries who will attend the event at BNDCC Nusa Dua. Bangli Regency has consistently participated every year, and we hope this will continue to be a strategic consideration in promoting Bangli tourism,” explained Winastra, who also serves as the Honorary Consul of Kazakhstan for Bali.
ASITA Bali also stressed the importance of integrated tourism promotion rather than fragmented efforts. According to him, Bali is a single, unified destination, and therefore promotion should be carried out comprehensively.
Beyond promotion, the management of tourist attractions became a major focus of the discussion. ASITA Bali once again pushed for the implementation of a one gate system or integrated ticketing for tourist attractions in Bangli Regency to ensure more orderly, transparent, and fair management.
During the meeting, ASITA Bali also touched on tourism regulations, namely Regional Regulation (Perda) No. 5 of 2020 and Governor Regulation (Pergub) No. 28 of 2020, which require all tourism destinations in Bali to be members of tourism associations under the Bali Tourism Board (BTB). Going forward, these regulations will be refined, meaning that destinations without proper permits and association membership may not be eligible for marketing.
ASITA Bali further requested special policies from the Bangli Regency Government so that travel agencies receive added value or differentiated treatment from tourist attractions, considering ASITA’s significant contribution in bringing in thousands of visitors.
“We sell and promote destinations, yet in practice the ticket prices we pay are the same as those paid by tourists who may only visit once in their lifetime. This raises an issue of fairness, especially when tourism declines and we are asked to offer special rates, while tourist attractions instead increase ticket prices,” he asserted.
Responding to these points, Bangli Regent Sang Nyoman Sedana Arta expressed his appreciation for the input and ideas conveyed by ASITA Bali. He described the discussion as highly productive, addressing crucial issues ranging from the one gate system to environmental concerns in the Kintamani area.
“This discussion was very warm and productive. We received many strategic inputs, including from ASITA Bali. Of course, the regional government must take the right stance in addressing tourism issues in Bangli Regency and support efforts to improve tourism governance,” he said.
The Regent also confirmed that several of the inputs would be followed up and accommodated in the Bangli Regency Regional Budget (APBD).
“Thank you to ASITA Bali for continuously providing input and encouragement (jengah) for the advancement of tourism in Bangli Regency,” he concluded. (*)
