BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — The Denpasar Class I Immigration Office deported a 22-year-old French national identified by the initials YGB through I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali on Friday (Sept. 18, 2026), after he overstayed his immigration permit by 100 days.

YGB voluntarily reported himself to the Denpasar Immigration Office after violating his stay permit. He had entered Indonesia on April 2, 2026, using a Visit Stay Permit.

After his permit expired, YGB remained in Indonesia beyond the authorized period, resulting in a 100-day overstay.

The immigration authorities subsequently took administrative enforcement measures against him in accordance with Article 78 Paragraph (3) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration.

Under the provision, a foreign national whose stay permit has expired and who remains in Indonesia for more than 60 days may be subject to Immigration Administrative Action in the form of deportation and a ban on re-entry.

YGB departed Indonesia through the Immigration Checkpoint at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport at 12:10 p.m. Central Indonesia Time (WITA) on an AirAsia flight.

The deportation process was carried out by the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section of the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office until YGB left Indonesian territory.

Head of the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office R. Haryo Sakti said all foreign nationals staying in Indonesia are required to comply with the country’s laws and regulations.

He said immigration authorities could take action against violations, including overstaying, in accordance with their legal authority, including deportation.

Separately, Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Ramdhani, welcomed the action taken by the Denpasar Immigration Office.

He said violations committed by foreign nationals would be handled in accordance with applicable laws as part of efforts to maintain security and public order in Bali and provide legal certainty for the community.

“Immigration will continue to be present in the community through consistent supervision and measured law enforcement. Every effort is directed at providing a sense of security and protecting the interests of the community, as a concrete manifestation of Immigration’s commitment to the people,” Ramdhani said.
