BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — Two Nigerian nationals who allegedly attempted to flee while being taken into immigration custody were among three foreign nationals transferred to the Denpasar Immigration Detention Center (Rudenim Denpasar) for further processing.

The transfer was carried out on September 9, 2026, by officers from the Intelligence and Immigration Enforcement Section of the Denpasar Class I Immigration Office.

The three foreigners were identified by their initials as ECO, a 34-year-old Nigerian man; PJU, a 40-year-old Nigerian man; and OM, a 61-year-old Lebanese man.

According to the Denpasar Immigration Office, ECO and PJU attempted to flee when they were being taken into custody. All three subsequently underwent immigration examinations before being transferred to Rudenim Denpasar in Jimbaran, Badung Regency, Bali.

Following the examination, ECO was subject to Article 78 paragraph (3) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration.

PJU was subject to Article 116 in conjunction with Article 71(b) and Article 75 paragraph (1) of the Immigration Law.

OM, meanwhile, was subject to Article 71(b) in conjunction with Article 116 and Article 75 paragraph (1) of the same law.

Denpasar Immigration Office Head R. Haryo Sakti said all foreigners staying in Indonesia are required to comply with Indonesian laws and regulations.

“We continue to conduct supervision and take action in accordance with the applicable regulations when violations are found,” Haryo said.

He stressed that immigration enforcement would continue to be carried out professionally, proportionately and humanely as part of the agency’s efforts to maintain security and public order within its jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, Head of the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, Ramdhani, emphasized that all foreigners visiting Bali must respect Indonesian laws and regulations.

“Any violations committed by foreign nationals will be dealt with in accordance with the law,” Ramdhani said.

He said the enforcement measures were part of the Immigration Office’s commitment to maintaining security and public order in Bali while providing legal certainty for the local community.

After the immigration examination and administrative procedures were completed, the three foreign nationals were handed over to Rudenim Denpasar for further handling in accordance with Indonesian immigration regulations.
