BALINEWSID.COM, JAKARTA – The Directorate General of Immigration under the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections has officially implemented a Work From Home (WFH) policy every Friday for civil servants (ASN) assigned to management support and administrative duties.

The policy refers to Circular Letter of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PAN-RB) No. 3 of 2026 on the implementation of official duties for ASN within government institutions, as well as Circular Letter of the Minister of Immigration and Corrections No. 2 of 2026. The regulation took effect on Friday, April 10, 2026.

Director General of Immigration, Hendarsam Marantoko, emphasized that the WFH policy aims to support energy efficiency and long-term environmental protection efforts.

“We ensure that immigration services will not be disrupted. WFH is designated only for ASN handling management support tasks. Officers responsible for public services and immigration supervision will continue working as usual,” Hendarsam stated on Wednesday (April 8, 2026).

He explained that personnel who are required to remain on-site on Fridays include immigration office service officers handling passport and residence permit applications, officers stationed at Immigration Checkpoints (TPI) in international airports, seaports, and border crossing posts, as well as intelligence and immigration supervision units.

In addition, the Directorate General of Immigration will closely monitor the performance of employees working remotely. Immediate supervisors are required to oversee daily work outputs to ensure productivity remains optimal despite the remote working arrangement.

Hendarsam reiterated that public service remains the top priority. He has instructed all regional office heads, heads of immigration offices, and heads of immigration detention centers to conduct direct field monitoring.

“Public interest is our main priority. Ensure that services continue to run quickly, optimally, and without disruption,” he affirmed.
