Interpol Fugitive and Alleged British Mafia Boss Deported from Bali

BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG – Indonesia (April 8, 2026) – Indonesian immigration authorities have deported a British national identified as SL (45), an alleged mafia boss and Interpol fugitive, following his arrest at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali.

The deportation was carried out on Tuesday (April 7) by the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office in coordination with the Secretariat of Indonesia’s National Central Bureau (NCB) of Interpol. SL was flown from Denpasar to Jakarta on flight QG689, before continuing his journey to Amsterdam on flight GA088.

SL was apprehended on March 28, 2026, at the airport’s immigration checkpoint upon arrival from Singapore. Authorities detected his identity through an integrated immigration system, which flagged him as a subject of an Interpol Red Notice.

According to intelligence data and coordination, SL is suspected of leading an international criminal organization. He is believed to have orchestrated operations involving shell companies and money laundering schemes managed by members of his network.

Head of Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Bugie Kurniawan, said the successful arrest highlights the effectiveness of Indonesia’s integrated immigration surveillance system.

“This deportation is a concrete step in our commitment to safeguarding national sovereignty. We will not allow Indonesia, particularly Bali, to become a haven or operational base for international criminals. Strict immigration control is our frontline defense against potential foreign threats,” Kurniawan said.

He added that the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office will continue to strengthen coordination with domestic and international law enforcement agencies to ensure accurate monitoring of foreign nationals entering and leaving Indonesia.

Authorities emphasized that consistent, intelligence-based immigration supervision is essential to maintaining national security and public order, particularly in preventing transnational crimes and ensuring stability from external threats.
