BALINEWSID.COM – A Dutch foreign national identified by the initials RP (49) was found covered in blood after being attacked in front of a villa in the North Kuta area, Badung, on Monday night (March 23, 2026). The victim later died from injuries caused by a stabbing with a sharp weapon.

Acting Head of Public Relations Subsection (Ps. Kasubsi Penmas) of Badung Police, Aiptu Ni Nyoman Ayu Inastuti, explained that the incident began at around 10:00 PM WITA when the victim was walking with his girlfriend, identified as PI (30), near the location. Two men riding a black automatic motorcycle approached the couple. One suspect was wearing a black ride-hailing (ojek online) jacket, a black helmet, and a blue mask, while the passenger was wearing an orange T-shirt without a helmet.

“The victim briefly stopped and asked his girlfriend to lock the villa, and not long afterward the two suspects immediately attacked the victim with a knife,” Inastuti said.

A witness identified as KPTAP (34), who was performing prayers at the time, heard screams coming from the scene. When he turned to look, he saw the two suspected perpetrators leaving the location on a black Honda Vario motorcycle, with the passenger carrying a knife. Because the suspects were armed, the witness did not dare to approach the scene.

Forensic officers from Badung Police found several items at the scene, including a knife blade, glasses, a mobile phone, and shoes belonging to the victim and a witness. The victim suffered severe lacerations to the left cheek extending to the ear, as well as injuries to the head, neck, shoulders, arms, back, and thighs. Upon arrival at BIMC Hospital, the victim was already unconscious and was pronounced dead at 11:29 PM WITA due to significant blood loss.
