BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR — A violent incident involving a man who assaulted a spa therapist and threatened to burn down the premises in East Denpasar has gone viral on social media. The case, which occurred on Friday night (April 17, 2026), is now under police investigation.

The incident took place at a spa located on Jalan Letda Kajeng No. 20A, Banjar Yangbatu Kangin, Dangin Puri Kelod Village, East Denpasar. It was officially recorded under police report number Dumas/140/IV/2026/SPKT/Polsek Dentim/Polresta Denpasar/Polda Bali.

The victim, identified as Putu Risma Dewi (30), an employee at LK Spa & Beauty, was assaulted by a 43-year-old man with the initials AWH, who is originally from Southwest Sumba Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.

According to police reports, the suspect arrived at the spa around 9:10 p.m. local time seeking massage services. After being informed about the available treatments, he agreed to proceed and was attended by a staff member identified as Nisa.

However, approximately an hour after the session, the suspect suddenly became enraged at the front area of the establishment, disputing the service fee. In a fit of anger, he struck the victim once on the right cheek with a clenched fist. He also issued a threat to burn down the premises.

As a result of the assault, the victim suffered pain in her right cheek and experienced fear due to the threats made by the suspect. She later reported the incident to the East Denpasar Police Sector (Polsek Dentim) in the early hours of Saturday (April 18, 2026), at around 1:45 a.m.

Following the report, a police team led by Head of Criminal Investigation Unit IPTU I Nyoman Agus Putra Ardiana and Operations Officer IPTU I Nyoman Padu launched an investigation. The suspect was eventually tracked down in the Jalan Waturenggong area in Denpasar.

He was arrested without resistance and taken to the East Denpasar Police Station for further legal proceedings.

During questioning, the suspect admitted to assaulting the victim with his bare hands and acknowledged making threats to burn the establishment. Police confirmed the suspect acted alone.

Authorities have secured several pieces of evidence, including a medical report (visum et repertum), the clothing worn during the incident, and CCTV footage from the scene.
