BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG — The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office detained four foreign nationals during a joint operation in Canggu, Badung, Bali, on Thursday night (September 24, 2026), including three who were allegedly found working as disc jockeys (DJs) in a nightclub despite their immigration status.

Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, Muhamad Novyandri, said the three foreign nationals allegedly misused their residence permits by performing as DJs at a nightclub in the Canggu area.

“The team detained three foreign nationals suspected of misusing their immigration permits by performing as disc jockeys at a nightclub in Canggu,” Novyandri said in a statement on Friday (September 25).

The three consisted of one Egyptian national, identified by the initials MSI, who held a Visa on Arrival (VOA), and two Russian nationals, identified as EZM and AA. EZM held a VOA, while AA held a Limited Stay Permit (ITAS) for investors.

Authorities also detained a Nigerian woman, identified by the initials PGA, for allegedly overstaying her immigration permit by 402 days.

All four foreign nationals are currently undergoing further examination at the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office. Officials are reviewing their immigration status and documents to determine whether they complied with the terms of their respective permits.

The detentions were carried out as part of the joint “Waspada Wira Tombak” law and order operation involving the Military Police. The operation also involved the Bali Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration, the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), the Military Police Detachment (Denpom), the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), and the Denpasar Police.

Novyandri said immigration monitoring would continue as part of efforts to maintain immigration order in Bali.

“Strict supervision is not solely aimed at enforcement, but also at ensuring that every immigration permit issued by the state is used according to its intended purpose,” he said.

He added that the measure was intended to help maintain a safe and orderly environment for both local residents and tourists in Bali.
