BALINEWSID.COM JAKARTA — The Indonesian National Police (Polri) is preparing to expand its digital Police Clearance Certificate (SKCK) service, including a self-printing system that would allow applicants to obtain printed certificates without visiting a police station.

The plan was announced by Brig. Gen. Achmad Ibrahim, a senior official at the Police Intelligence and Security Agency (Baintelkam), during a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) and Joint Commitment event on the transformation of the integrated SKCK service ecosystem in Jakarta on Wednesday (23/9/2026).

Achmad said the fully online SKCK service has been implemented since 2025 and is continuing to be developed through integration with databases operated by various government institutions.

“The SKCK service has entered the super app. The data already connected include Dukcapil, the Directorate General of Immigration, the Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim), and BPJS. More institutions will certainly be integrated in the future,” Achmad said.

According to Achmad, the digital transformation is intended to make the SKCK application process easier while improving transparency in public services.

One of the systems being prepared is self-printing, which would allow applicants to print their SKCK at a designated machine using a barcode generated through the online SKCK application.

“The essence of the fully online SKCK service is to eliminate face-to-face interaction between applicants and police officers. When it comes to printing the SKCK form, it can be done anywhere. Applicants do not need to come to a police station; they only need the online SKCK application and the barcode it generates,” he said.

The self-printing system is currently being tested using 10 Automated Teller Machine (ATM)-type machines in Jakarta.

Polri is targeting further development of the system in 2027, while taking into account network readiness, infrastructure and other technical requirements.

Meanwhile, Secretary General of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi) Ismail welcomed Baintelkam Polri’s initiative to integrate SKCK services into the national public service ecosystem.

“The initiative taken by Baintelkam Polri is aimed at collaborating and integrating the SKCK service, which is one of the basic public services, so that people can have easier access in the future,” Ismail said.

He said the government already has technological solutions to support data integration among ministries and government institutions. However, he added that the next challenge is to develop a collaborative mindset across institutions.

“The spirit is the same: to serve the public. Integration will change the jargon from ‘I’ for each ministry or institution into ‘we’,” Ismail said.

The FGD involved several government institutions, including BPJS, the Ministry of Manpower, Komdigi and the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB).

The event was followed by the signing of a Joint Commitment aimed at strengthening cooperation in transforming and integrating SKCK governance and services.

Through digitalization and cross-agency data integration, Polri is seeking to develop an SKCK service that is easier, faster and more transparent, with the self-printing system expected to become part of the service’s further development starting in 2027.
