BALINEWSID.COM, JAKARTA — The Ministry of Immigration and Corrections (Kemenimipas) has honored a civil servant for his innovation and contribution to improving public services, as the ministry concluded its 2026 Coordination Meeting in Jakarta on Wednesday (Sept. 23).

The award was presented to Wiko Nurdian, a Junior Computer Systems Analyst at the Regional Office of the Directorate General of Immigration in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT).

Wiko won first place in the ASN Menulis X Kumparan Opinion Writing Competition for his work titled “ASN Hanya Absen, Ngopi, Lalu Pulang? Aku Jawab dengan Inovasi dan Prestasi” (“Do Civil Servants Just Check In, Have Coffee and Go Home? I Answer with Innovation and Achievement”).

The work was also featured in a storytelling session during the closing ceremony of the 2026 Coordination Meeting, which carried the theme “From Evaluation to Action: Building a Quality and Integrity-Driven Kemenimipas.”

Through the presentation, Kemenimipas highlighted the role of civil servants as drivers of change through ideas, innovation and concrete solutions to problems within the bureaucracy.

Minister of Immigration and Corrections Agus Andrianto personally presented Wiko with the Anugraha Wira Wibawa Dharmesti Pratama Award in recognition of his contribution to improving the quality and integrity of public services within the ministry.

In his closing remarks, Agus urged Kemenimipas personnel not to stop at identifying problems but to move toward concrete action and measurable improvements.

“After this coordination meeting, we should no longer stop at asking what the problems are. We must act, implement what we have resolved, and determine what changes we can produce,” Agus said.

He cited Wiko’s innovation in developing an application for managing serial numbers for archived correspondence as an example of how improvements can begin at the individual level.

According to Agus, innovation does not always require large budgets, major policies or instructions from the central government.

“Change can begin with the awareness to identify a problem, the courage to take initiative, and the ability to provide a solution,” he said.

Kemenimipas said the award reflects its effort to create a bureaucratic environment that provides opportunities for employees to innovate, improve performance and deliver tangible benefits to the organization.

The closing of the 2026 Coordination Meeting also marked the ministry’s push to translate evaluations into concrete actions and improvements across its central and regional offices.

The meeting was attended by senior Kemenimipas officials, heads of regional offices and heads of technical implementation units from across Indonesia.
