BALINEWSID.COM, DENPASAR – Bali Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General I Made Astawa has stressed the importance of discipline and integrity among police personnel, warning officers to stay away from drug abuse and online gambling, which can damage personal lives and tarnish the reputation of the police institution.
The warning was delivered during a morning assembly attended by senior police officials and personnel at the Bali Police Headquarters’ parade ground on Monday, November 2, 2026.
In his address, Astawa emphasized that all police personnel must maintain discipline both in the performance of their official duties and in their daily lives. He said discipline was not merely an obligation but also a reflection of responsibility and professionalism in carrying out police duties.
“I specifically urge all personnel to stay away from drugs and online gambling. No member should become involved in such activities, as they can not only destroy their personal and family futures but also tarnish the reputation of the police institution,” Astawa said.
In addition to emphasizing discipline and integrity, the Deputy Police Chief reminded personnel to maintain their health and strengthen their preparedness as the rainy season begins, particularly in anticipating potential natural disasters.
“All personnel must remain alert and be ready to respond whenever needed, especially in providing assistance and services to communities affected by natural disasters,” he said.
Astawa stressed that police personnel must remain prepared to respond to emergencies and provide immediate assistance to communities in need.
The briefing served as a reminder that police responsibilities extend beyond professionalism in law enforcement. Officers are also expected to uphold discipline, demonstrate integrity, and remain responsive to developments and challenges within the community.
