BALINEWSID.COM, BADUNG — The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office deported 12 foreign nationals (WNA) between August 26 and September 4, 2026, following routine immigration patrols conducted across its area of jurisdiction.

Of the 12 foreign nationals deported, four were subjected to Immigration Administrative Action under Article 75 paragraph (1) of Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration.

The four consisted of three Russian nationals who were found to have misused their residence permits and one Canadian national who had completed a prison sentence for a fraud case.

The remaining eight foreign nationals were deported under Article 78 paragraph (3) of Law No. 6 of 2011 after overstaying their immigration permits by more than 60 days.

They comprised two British nationals and one national each from France, the Netherlands, the United States, Belgium, Belarus, and New Zealand.

Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office Muhamad Novyandri said routine immigration patrols were an important part of efforts to monitor the presence and activities of foreign nationals in the area under the office’s jurisdiction.

“We conduct immigration patrols regularly to ensure that the presence and activities of foreign nationals, particularly within our jurisdiction, comply with applicable regulations,” Novyandri said in a written statement on Sunday (Sept. 6, 2026).

He stressed that foreign nationals found to have violated immigration regulations would face appropriate action in accordance with Indonesian law.

The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office said it would continue strengthening immigration supervision and law enforcement concerning the presence and activities of foreign nationals in its jurisdiction.

All foreign nationals staying in Indonesia are required to comply with immigration regulations, including residence permit requirements and their obligations while in the country, as well as respect local cultural values.

The deportation of 12 foreign nationals within a 10-day period underscores the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office’s continued efforts to detect and take action against immigration violations in Bali.
